AMC has great news for Fear The Walking Dead fans. The popular post-apocalyptic horror show has been renewed for a Season 8. But that’s not all! It was also revealed that Kim Dickens will be returning to the show when Season 7 returns on April 10 on AMC+ and April 17 on AMC. The actress will also appear as a series regular in Season 8.
Kim Dickens portrayed fan-favorite character Madison Clark who appeared in the first four seasons of Fear The Walking Dead. Madison was last seen during the show’s fourth season in an episode called “No One’s Gone”. In the mid-season finale, Madison sacrificed herself to help the others escape infection from hoards of zombies. She leads them away and locks a gate behind her so everyone else can get away. Trapped by zombies with no way out, audiences were led to believe that Madison had died and Dickens had left the show.
Speaking to Talking Dead (via Screenrant) Dickens confirmed that she will be reprising her role as Madison Clark for the seventh season of Fear The Walking Dead. The actress added that she’s known about the return of her character for almost a year. Chief content officer of The Walking Dead franchise, Scott M. Gimple also shared his thoughts about the importance of her character.
“If there were a Mt. Deadmore, Kim Dickens’ face would be on it, Madison Clark is a foundational character to The Walking Dead Universe,” he said in a statement via Deadline. “She is a heroic, complex, every person who becomes a warrior and then a force of benevolence.” He added that Dickens’ raw talent, strength, and brilliance will electrify audiences once more. And he couldn’t be luckier to have her back on Fear The Walking Dead.
The second half of Fear The Walking Dead’s Season 7 begins months after the nuclear blast. And the only one thriving is Victor Strand. Having built a fiefdom, he callously decides who gets a chance at life and who doesn’t. Other members of the group have suffered immensely. But from the devastation comes a fierce determination to live. Even if it means taking Strand’s Tower by force and continuing the search for Padre, a mythical place no one is sure really exists.
Alicia is now the reluctant leader of Teddy’s former followers and is plagued by a mysterious illness along with the repercussions of her past actions. Morgan, who is still hopeful that he will be reunited with his family, knows Alicia is the key to their survival. With Alicia declaring war, Strand’s paranoia and personal vendettas grow. And with that new threats emerge from all sides.
Created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, Fear The Walking Dead was developed as a spin-off to The Walking Dead. The flagship series is based on the comic book of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard. The first three seasons served as a prequel, focusing on a blended family who experience the start of the zombie apocalypse.
Subsequent series run concurrently to the original show, with Morgan Jones from The Walking Dead crossing over into the series. Fear The Walking Dead premiered in 2015. It is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, Showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and David Alpert, and is produced by AMC Studios.
