Since 1943, 10 actors have donned Batman’s cape and cowl and become the Dark Knight for the movies (11 in total if you count Will Arnett’s LEGO Batman, which you totally should). As the most often portrayed superhero on the big screen, it’s an age-old question of which actor played the Caped Crusader best. Well, according to Comicbook.com, furniture company Valencia Theater Seating has taken it upon itself to figure out which Batman the fans love the best, and the clear winner is obviously Michael Keaton.

To figure out the answer to this very important question, Valencia Theater Seating took to Twitter, where they analyzed more than 150,000 tweets containing phrases like “Best Batman” and “GOAT Batman.” They looked at geo-tagged tweets over a period of three months and sorted the found data into states. As it turns out, almost half of the United States had the same favorite Batman: Michael Keaton.

Micheal Keaton won the popularity contest with 23 states claiming him the best Dark Knight overall. Christian Bale came in second place, with 18 states favoring his portrayal. Ben Affleck claimed the bronze medal with seven states in his favor, which was still better than Robert Pattinson did since The Batman actor only won over two states.

Honestly, it’s no surprise that the Twitter poll showed the best Batman as being Michael Keaton. And those who agree with the results will be happy to know that they will be able to see Keaton reprise his role as the best Batman in the upcoming The Flash movie. Fans were able to witness Keaton back in the bat suit after a 30-year hiatus in The Flash trailer, which was released last month.

Warner Bros. Discovery first announced that Batman would once again be portrayed by Michael Keaton in 2021. In response to his casting, Keaton admitted that he’d always thought about returning to the character, claiming that if he ever did, he knew he would be able to “nail that motherf–ker.” While filming took place two whole years ago, and we still have several months to go before we can see the film released in theaters, we are sure that Keaton did indeed “nail” his part.

When talking about returning to Batman, Michael Keaton said it was easy but emotional. The actor explained how putting on the suit again brought back memories from decades ago and how the shots used for the scenes he was in were extremely cool as well as evocative of Tim Burton, who directed Batman in 1989.

The Flash will see Barry Allen collide with multiple Batmans, including Michael Keaton’s and Ben Affleck’s, as he travels through the multiverse in order to change the past. When Barry ends up in a world where General Zod is back, he must coax a different Batman than the one he knows (probably Keaton’s) out of retirement to save the world and return to his own universe.

The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, and Michael Shannon, will hit theaters on June 16, 2023.
