Warner Bros. Has A Plan To Save The Flash Movie By Hiding Ezra Miller
Warner Bros is apparently limiting the number of media appearances Ezra Miller will participate in for The Flash
Ezra Miller will not be part of the press tour for The Flash. Instead of doing multiple media appearances, Warner Bros will limit the number of interviews with the actor. The news was revealed by Small Screen, who reached out to the studio for confirmation. Although the publication received no official response, unnamed sources seemed aware of the arrangement for the DC Extended Universe film.
The actor, who plays Barry Allen in the upcoming movie, has been involved in several legal scandals in the past year. In March 2022, Ezra Miller was arrested in Hawaii for disorderly conduct and harassment at a karaoke bar. They pled no contest to a single misdemeanor count and paid a $500 fine. The harassment charge was eventually dismissed.
A month later, Ezra Miller was arrested again in Hawaii for second-degree assault. But they were released without charge once more. In May 2022, The Flash star was charged with felony burglary in Vermont for allegedly stealing a few bottles of alcohol from a house while the owners were not present. They appeared in court for the offense.
On April 6th, 2022, sources told Rolling Stone that Warner Bros executives held an emergency meeting to discuss Ezra Miller’s future with the studio. They eventually decided to pause any future projects involving the 30-year-old. At the time, that included appearances in the DC Extended Universe. While the unnamed source claims the actor had “frequent meltdowns” on The Flash set, he was never violent.
About two weeks later, Ezra Miller was again taken into custody for throwing a chair that hit a woman at a private party in Hawaii. They were also accused of physically and emotionally abusing an 18-year-old named Gibson and made themselves unavailable so court officials couldn’t serve them with a restraining order. Since then, several accounts of their strange behavior have been reported.
In August 2022, a representative for Ezra Miller issued a statement on behalf of the actor, saying they would be getting help. “Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” they said. “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior.”
“I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive stage in my life,” Ezra Miller continued via Variety. The actor first appeared as The Flash in 2017’s Justice League and Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. But their off-screen troubles overshadowed their role in the DC franchise.
However, Warner Bros chose not to scrap the movie and is preparing for its release on June 16th. Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Christina Hodson, The Flash stars Ezra Miller alongside Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, Ben Affleck, and Michael Keaton.
The story begins when Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) uses the Speed Force to travel back in time to prevent his mother’s death. But altering the future comes with severe consequences, and The Flash becomes trapped in a world without Meta Humans. After General Zod returns, he convinces an older Batman and a Kryptonian castaway to help him defeat the supervillain and return home.
