Ezra Miller Is Being Compared To Christian Bale
Ezra Miller's The Flash is being compared to The Dark Knight.
Ezra Miller may have had plenty of issues stemming from their multiple arrests, but things are now starting to calm down on the DC side of things. In fact, a new report from a DC insider is now comparing Miller’s The Flash movie to The Dark Knight. According to this report, “Studio insiders haven’t been this excited for Warner Bros. superhero movie since The Dark Knight movies…almost everything about The Flash points to a massive summer sensation.”
Though The Flash has since cut out cameos from Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and Henry Cavill’s Superman, it appears there is more going on that has been exciting those who have seen early cuts of the movie. Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen is apparently still going to be meeting both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s Batman characters in the movie, which places itself squarely in the plot of the multiverse. We are not sure what that means for the future of both Batmen, but we could be seeing more of them.
Michael Keaton’s Batman was supposed to have a part in the now-canceled Batgirl movie, and he was apparently supposed to have a solo movie after that which would have brought in the classic Batman storyline, Batman Beyond. However, James Gunn has stated that the story of Terry McGinnis could be coming later on in the DC plans. This leaves Ezra Miller to reintroduce Keaton’s Batman back into the world.
James Gunn and Peter Safran must have been plenty impressed with Ezra Miller and The Flash to want to keep it around, especially after the drama that surrounded Miller. Everything else was canceled, including Wonder Woman 3, Black Adam 2, and Cavill returning as Superman. There are even rumors that The Flash is going to be introducing the world to the new version of the Justice League.
The usual case for most DC movies lately, is to pack in a ton of characters without giving everyone time to develop. They missed the mark when the first Justice League movie was released, which featured Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, and Ray Fisher. All these actors have left DC behind apart from Momoa, Miller, and Affleck, who seemingly have bigger parts to play in this new DC Cinematic Universe.
We are not sure if Ezra Miller is going to remain as The Flash past this initial solo movie, but it stands to reason that they will, especially if DC insiders are saying this new movie is on par with The Dark Knight. Miller has survived being canceled completely, so they could also be part of the new slate of DC releases that are set to be announced in the coming weeks. So far, there has not been any movement on announcements from co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran.
Ezra Miller stars in The Flash, which is set to debut officially on June 16, 2023. The first look at the movie is going to occur during a commercial break for this year’s Super Bowl, so everyone can finally see what all this rumored excitement is about. We all hope to see a lot of Michael Keaton’s Batman in the trailer, as he was showcased in teaser images so far, and he looks great.
