Update: This Giant Freakin Robot exclusive was confirmed, and Stephen Amell appeared in the final season of The Flash on the CW.

The CW is all but dead, and one of the final shows on the network is getting its swan song: The Flash. The Flash is going to be doing all it can to remind everyone that it was once the premiere series on a failing network, which includes bringing back the chief player in the Arrowverse. Through our trusted and proven sources, we can report that Stephen Amell is going to be returning as the Green Arrow for the final season of The Flash.

The Arrowverse started with Arrow and Stephen Amell, so it only makes sense for it to end with the man. Amell was initially cast as Oliver Queen in 2012, which shot him to superstardom by the time the Arrow series ended in 2020. We are not sure what his role is going to be for The Flash, but we would imagine the pair are going to do some epic fighting one final time.

Stephen Amell has appeared in The Flash before, along with the other shows in the Arrowverse: Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. However, both those shows have since been canceled, as the CW is now being repurposed into something brand-new. The Flash was one of the better shows that succeeded Arrow, and honestly became much more exciting, but it is being met with the same fate.

The CW is going to be changing into something new that is likely to not focus on DC content, which is why most of the shows under the banner have been canceled. The Flash was one of the last remaining shows, and it makes sense that it would be going out with a proverbial bang. All of the Arrowverse stars should be brought back to say goodbye to the network that helped make them stars, including Stephen Amell.

There was a “Crisis on Infinite Earths” event that took place during The Flash, which included characters from Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, and Supergirl. We would imagine that something along those lines is going to be put together to bring back Stephen Amell and the rest of the reported characters that are making their final return to the network. One final big battle with everyone returning would be epic, and it appears that could be happening.

Though the live-action DC shows on The CW have not been all good, Arrow and The Flash were consistently exciting. It is a bit sad that they are finally going to be gone after this last season of The Flash. Still, bringing back Stephen Amell is a great move, and it will remind everyone of how good Arrow was when it first came out.

For now, everyone can patiently wait to see what Stephen Amell and the rest of the Arrowverse characters are going to do in their return to The Flash series, which we hope is a massive battle. The Flash Season 9 will debut on February 8, 2023 and will be the final time we see Grant Gustin suit up as Barry Allen. Well, unless he is welcomed to the DC Cinematic Universe if Ezra Miller is removed as the movie version of the character.
