Sandra Bullock has had a career to be proud of. Well, to be fair, there was that attempt at a franchise for Speed that led to her biggest career-related regret (Speed 2: Cruise Control), and she has won her Razzie for Worst Actress. However, these low moments have proven that she takes risks and doesn’t let any perceived low moments stop her. She stuck through those years of awkward movies that didn’t hit and came back with major success after major success. That’s the kind of career story audiences love to get behind. If there’s something the actress hasn’t really done yet, it’s sign onto an established franchise. Now, we’re hearing that’s already changed, we just don’t know it. A trusted and proven inside source for Giant Freakin Robot shares that Sandra Bullock has secretly joined the DC Extended Universe.
Our source learned that Sandra Bullock has signed on with DC for an upcoming project. The actress is officially part of DC. We weren’t able to confirm what that specific project is. We would expect it to be a movie since that’s what Sandra Bullock is known for. However, that’s only speculation. She could appear in a series.
Our source shared that this is an upcoming project and that the actress has signed on. Since they made a point of saying that she is joining the franchise secretly, it will be interesting to see if the studio decides to attempt to keep this quiet until closer to the premiere, or if news about this comes out before we end up seeing the actress suddenly appear on screens. A secret reveal for Sandra Bullock would certainly be a fun one for the studio to pull off. That gets harder to do with so many people so curious about DC’s upcoming work.
Could she be showing up in one of the big ones, like Black Adam or The Flash? It seems unlikely that they would use her for The Flash, since so much is already going on in that movie, but like Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, they do seem happy to pile as much in there as they possibly can. Another fun possibility could be Shazam: Fury Of The Gods. The sequel has Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler playing a trio of goddesses going against Shazam. That seems like a fun casting for Sandra Bullock to join in on, even if her role would be small.
Of course, there’s another big one that isn’t talked about as much at this point, but it’s supposed to be coming in December of 2023, and that’s the third Wonder Woman film. When Sandra Bullock has talked about superhero movies in the past, she’s made a point of bringing up Captain Marvel and Wonder Woman. There was a time, long long ago, when Bullock was approached for the role of Wonder Woman, but she said there were better actresses for that particular part. Perhaps that’s true. It’s easy to picture her showing up at Gal Gadot’s side though. In a major part, she could play an antagonist for the movie. Alternatively, she could have a role of any size as one of the Amazons. That movie is still so wide open that the possibilities are endless.
With Patty Jenkins saying that Wonder Woman 3 is going to be the last one, they’re going to want to pack major moments in there like they’re doing for The Flash. Revealing an actress like Sandra Bullock could certainly be a fun attention-getter. Hopefully, after all this time putting off signing on for a superhero movie, her role is something she’ll be happy with in the end.
