Star Wars is most well known for its big-screen productions, but the comic books, movies, and animated films are beloved by dedicated fans. As the universe has grown, Lucasfilm has discovered a secret treasure in Ahsoka Tano, a character originally appearing in animation and co-created by Dave Filoni. Since appearing in The Mandalorian, Rosario Dawson’s portrayal of the character has fast become a fan favorite. She’s appearing in more Star Wars projects and has her own series on the way. Our source was able to share with us that Dave Filoni is the person developing the Ahsoka movie. As he co-created the character for animation, wrote and directed the episode that introduced Rosario Dawson as the character for The Mandalorian, and is working on the Ahsoka series, it sounds like the character is staying in consistently good hands. That should bode well for the development of her story across all these projects.
Of course, that means it’s going to be very interesting to see how the storyline from Star Wars Rebels, an animated series, plays into the live-action stories in the series and this new movie. This is something fans are already excited about with the developing series for Rosario Dawson. Will the recently introduced live-action Cad Bane be in the Ahsoka movie? Will Thrawn? Will we meet even more Rebels characters in the movie? Our source has yet to be able to share these details, but we’re certainly excited to find out as soon as we can.

That seems like a safe bet. There is bound to be a lot more happening in that show, since they’ve also cast stars like Hayden Christensen in the series. He’ll be reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker. As Ahsoka Tano’s former Jedi Master, Anakin Skywalker (eventually known as Darth Vader) is bound to stir up more developing troubles for Ahsoka Tano. Will that be what leads into the story for this new movie?
If it isn’t that, what will the new Rosario Dawson movie cover? Since the film is currently in development, and the series seems to be revving up, it seems likely that season one of Ahsoka will premiere before the movie does. So is the series going to set up the story Dave Filoni has in mind for Ahsoka Tano’s movie? It seems like a good bet that there are more clues for what’s ahead in the Rebels series, but the connections may only become more obvious once the Ahsoka series premiere on Disney+. Hopefully, the new movie will have all kinds of tie-ins to the many Ahsoka Tano appearances in the Star Wars universe so far, and build even more clues for the story ahead.
