Exclusive: Christian Slater Eyed For Spider-Man 4
Christian Slater is being eyed for a part in Spider-Man 4.
Though Tom Holland and the rest of the cast and crew have not been confirmed to be returning for Spider-Man 4, longtime Sony producer Tom Rothman has stated that the movie is still happening. Confirming the existence of the movie is great, but we would all like to hear some casting announcements, which we now have. Through our trusted and proven sources, we can report that Christian Slater is being eyed for a role in Spider-Man 4.
We are not entirely sure what role Christian Slater would have in Spider-Man 4, but our guess is that he would be suiting up as a mainline villain that has not yet made their live-action debut. One of the biggest villains, who is part of the Sinister Six, and has not yet been introduced is Scorpion. We have already seen Venom, Doctor Octopus, Shocker, Sandman, Mysterio, and Vulture, but Scorpion is the outlier in this situation.
Granted, there are a ton of different variations of the Sinister Six team, so there could be any number of villains joining together in the future. However, with Kraven now getting his own solo movie, we could see the inclusion of the team in future Web Head movies. Christian Slater could also just be another of Peter Parker’s allies in Spider-Man 4, but it is more fun to think about the villains that have not yet been used.
Christian Slater’s appearance in Spider-Man 4 could also land him in the coveted spot of the Hobgoblin. Roderick Kingsley was able to find one of the lairs of the Green Goblin and perfect the formula without adopting the insanity that comes along with it. Considering that Spider-Man: No Way Home relied on the Green Goblin’s insanity once again, it would be interesting to go the other way and finally bring in the Hobgoblin.
Famed Spider-Man actor, Jacob Batalon, did recently shut down the rumors that he would be taking on the role of the infamous villain. The rumors surrounding the character do mean that fans are interested in seeing Hobgoblin appear sooner rather than later, and Christian Slater would be perfect for the role in Spider-Man 4. Should Jon Watts return to direct the fourth installment, he could want to bring in some lesser-known Spidey villain, but we would think that either Scorpion or Hobgoblin would be next on the list.
Another interesting idea would be to place Christian Slater in the role of an ally of sorts in Spider-Man 4. He could play someone like John Jameson, who was shown in Spider-Man 4 briefly but has since been underutilized. Slater could play the son of J.K. Simmons.
Either way, we are excited to see updates happening in this universe, and that starts with Christian Slater being added to Spider-Man 4. As soon as more news drops, we will be the first to let everyone know. Now if Tom Holland could just sign his new deal already.
