Brie Larson has already staked her claim as a major pop culture figure thanks to her inclusion in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel. She is set to return as that character in The Marvels, but that sequel has fans wondering if the actress is going to maintain such a presence in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As such, we decided to reach out to one of our trusted and proven insider sources to see what the future might hold for Brie Larson. And it turns out that she could be angling for a spot in the final frontier.
Our source says that Brie Larson is currently interested in playing some role in the Star Trek franchise. Exactly what role or project is unclear at this time, but it does look like she has shown some interest in the series. We don’t know if her desire to be in the Star Trek franchise is something she wants for a long-term role or if it would be a limited appearance in one of the many upcoming shows. It is worth assuming that an actress of Brie Larson’s notoriety would not be popping in for just a minor role, so we assume she is angling for a lead in some way.
However, that could be a bigger time commitment than she is interested in. Many celebrities are fans of Star Trek and just want a small opportunity to be in the series. There are plenty of notable cameos across the decades from stars and it could be that Brie Larson wants to add her name to that list. She has been pretty vocal about her love of another star-focused franchise, and it is recently being reported that she could be appearing in Star Wars as a fan-favorite character. Perhaps she wants to hold the unique distinction of being in both Star Trek and Star Wars. If that does end up happening, it would be an extremely noteworthy addition to her resume.
There are certainly plenty of opportunities for Brie Larson to appear in Star Trek considering just how many shows are on the horizon. In addition to new seasons of Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard, and Star Trek: Lower Decks, we also have Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Star Trek: Prodigy, and Star Trek: Section 31 in the works. Not to mention what is going on with the feature film arm of the franchise. Suffice to say that Brie Larson would certainly have a plethora of options when it comes to what Star Trek project she would want to be involved with. There are plenty of roles to fill and she would undeniably be a major get for any of these projects.
It is going to be interesting to see if Brie Larson does end up snagging a part in a Star Trek movie or series. It could allow her the opportunity to showcase a side of her acting that most audiences are not as familiar with. We will simply have to wait and see if she ends up being beamed up or not.
