See Ewan McGregor Hide Among The Hunted Jedi In Obi-Wan Trailer

On top of the first look images released today for the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series, a surprise teaser trailer has followed. While the new show isn’t set to air until May, fans will finally get to see what all the hype is about. Ewan McGregor had mentioned in the past that Obi-Wan and Darth Vader are set to face one another again, but that could all be held under wraps for right now. However, the extremely excitable teaser trailers show many new elements, including the Grand Inquisitor. You can see the trailer below:
The opening of the trailer shows a much different Obi-Wan than we had seen in the prequels. He is alone and wandering through sand dunes which could signify his place on Tatooine somewhere. The narration kicks in offering a more somber style of the great Jedi. He says, “the fight is done, we lost.” This is a nod to the ending of Revenge of the Sith when Order 66 was enacted by The Emperor. Order 66 was the executive order placed by the Empire which retroactively made all Jedi enemies of the Empire and was an attempt to completely wipe them out of existence. Only Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) and Yoda were said to have escaped the fate of extinction. One of the more interesting moments comes in the form of Obi-Wan peering through binoculars and possibly watching a young Luke Skywalker, before the narration of “stay hidden” comes into effect.
There is so much to break down in the trailer, including the reveal of the Grand Inquisitor, who seems to be the main villainous force for the Ewan McGregor-led series. This is the first time the world has seen the character in live-action form. Another Inquisitor or possibly Third Sister is that of Moses Ingram’s character, Reva. She was shown greatly in the first look images, even squaring up to that of Joel Edgerton’s Uncle Owen. Fans of the prequels will recognize the background music of Duel of the Fates as the Grand Inquisitor speaks ill of the Jedi. His tips in hunting Jedi are coupled with plenty of moments of Reva looking as intense as ever, including what looks to be some sort of public execution. We are also treated to a threatening and spinning lightsaber from the Grand Inquisitor asking “where is he?” possibly meaning Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 25th, and after watching this trailer, we cannot wait to see the show. The series will feature Ewan McGregor returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, along with Star Wars newcomers Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, Benny Safdie, and O’Shea Jackson Jr. This cast and the series look to be as exciting as ever. The introduction of the Inquisitors, or force-sensitive Jedi hunters was first introduced during Star Wars: Rebels before making their way into the video game Jedi: Fallen Order. While fans of the Star Wars mythos are familiar with these renegade hunters, this is the first time they are entering live-action continuity. Getting to see Obi-Wan take on Darth Vader and many Inquisitors is going to be fantastic. Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on May 25th.
