The Best Horror Franchise In History Confirms New Movies Coming Out And Frequently
Fans of the revered Evil Dead horror franchise won’t have to worry about waiting a decade between projects, as Bruce Campbell recently revealed that there should be projects every two to three years from now on.
An Evil Dead Balance
Campbell spoke to Collider and emphasized that they would balance keeping fans happy and ensuring they aren’t burnt out.
He said, “But, hey, we’ve seen with Star Wars — you don’t want to wear people out.”
This is probably music to the ears of Evil Dead fans, as there is definitely a want for more but there’s no need to push out quantity over quality.
Evil Dead Rise A Hit
Bruce Campbell was previously the franchise’s star but now produces it along with original director Sam Raimi and producer Robert Tapert.
Campbell had a hit on his hands with the most recent entry to the franchise, Evil Dead Rise, which earned acclaim from audiences and fans alike.
The positive response and the $140 million box office gross certainly helped guarantee that we would be seeing more from this universe in the future.
Lee Cronin May Not Return
However, Bruce Campbell was also quick to caution that he isn’t sure if Lee Cronin would return for another Evil Dead installment.
Cronin, who directed Rise and played a big role in its success, will likely be plenty busy in the coming years. As Campbell notes, his work on the film may lead to him being in high demand, and they may not be able to get him on for another film.
That said, fans of the Evil Dead franchise will likely be tuning in regardless. There is an all-time high optimism for the franchise, and hope there will be a certain level of quality going forth. Regardless of who is attached to the project, it will be interesting to see what direction the story takes.
Evil Dead Return To Form
Evil Dead: Rise starred Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland as two estranged sisters trying to survive and save their family from deadites.
The film also starred Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher. While the film didn’t feature Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams, fans felt like it was a return to form for the franchise and a great overall addition to the ongoing story.
Ready To Make More
Evil Dead: Rise also ended up being the highest-grossing film in the franchise. So it’s unsurprising that Campbell and the studios are ready to make more.
Cronin has also previously expressed that he had ideas for future sequels, so there is a possibility that he’ll be involved in the next one. As far as that goes, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Streaming Evil Dead
If you missed out on Evil Dead: Rise in theaters, you can head over to Max and stream it.
You can also stream all of the other films in the franchise, including the original, Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness, and the 2013 Evil Dead.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to stream the fantastic TV series Ash vs. Evil Dead on Starz, though you could always pay for the premium Starz channel if you wanted to check that out.
