Season three of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series The Boys may have come to its wild conclusion, but that doesn’t seem to stop the show’s stars from promoting other projects, as well as themselves, via social media. Recently, actor Jack Quaid posted a picture of himself to Twitter as he attended San Diego Comic-Con, fit with a Ghostface mask from the famous horror franchise Scream. Conversely, Soldier Boy himself, Jensen Ackles, was featured in a parody of Supernatural with a behind-the-scenes shot on The Boys, calling attention to his former role on The CW’s long-running series. Now it appears that The Boys star Erin Moriarty is getting in on the act a little, posting a picture of herself on Instagram that is sure to turn some heads.
In a series of pictures and one video posted to Erin Moriarty’s Instagram account, the actor appears to be showing off her legs while lounging outside her Los Angeles home. With a caption that calls attention to the fact that she is at her house, Moriarty seems to signal that she is only there for a brief period, most likely in between filming. On her post, she tagged fellow actor Jacob Artist, who audiences may know from his work as Jake Puckerman on Glee and Brandon Fletcher on ABC’s thriller series Quantico. Commenting on the post, several of Moriarty’s 1.7 million followers included the now infamous #Homelight hashtag. This is a reference to a media campaign in the third season of The Boys where Moriarty’s character of Starlight has a fake romance for the cameras with resident Vought bad boy, Homelander. This fake romance became a focal point of the third season, leading to an epic cliffhanger.
The Boys began its run on Amazon Prime Video in 2019 and just concluded its third season earlier this month. The series is a parody of sorts of the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Extended Universe of superheroes. In this case, superpowered individuals have become part of a capitalistic conglomerate named Vought International. These Supes tend to abuse their powers for financial gain and power, most notably Homelander, played by Antony Starr. Erin Moriarty portrays Starlight, who, according to Men’s Health, is a quasi-amalgam of DC’s Stargirl and Supergirl. Rounding out the cast is Jack Quaid as Hughie and Karl Urban as Butcher, who become vigilantes in search of ways to bring Vought to justice for crimes they have committed using their Supes, also referred to as the Seven.
Erin Moriarty’s role in The Boys brought international attention to the 28-year-old American actor. Before The Boys, Moriarty was featured in the 2016 film Captain Fantastic, costarring Viggo Mortensen and Frank Langella. She also appeared on television in episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and True Detective before being cast in the supporting role of Hope Shlottman on Marvel’s Jessica Jones, starring Krysten Ritter. Besides filming the upcoming fourth season of The Boys, due to be released sometime in 2023, Erin Moriarty will next be seen in True Haunting and Catching Dust, according to IMDB.
