See Elizabeth Olsen In First Look At Her New Series
Check out the first images of Elizabeth Olsen in her new series. This is definitely a different kind of dramatic role for the actress

Elizabeth Olsen’s latest TV series is currently filming and HBO Max just released some new stills of her character. The upcoming mini-series sees Olsen playing a 1980s Texas housewife Candy Montgomery who might not be as sweet as she seems. It’s something of a departure for the actress considering what she’s been doing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The tweet doesn’t give us a lot to go by, but you can clearly tell she’s upset in the image. What’s she upset about is yet to be seen, but we’ve definitely got some ideas. Love & Death is actually based on a true story, told in the book Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs. The story is also inspired by a series of articles in Texas Monthly. See, Candy Montgomery is the name of the real-life ax murderer that Elizabeth Olsen is playing. Like we said, not quite as sweet as she seems. Take a look at the image in the tweet below:
Elizabeth Olsen is joined by Lily Rabe as Betty Gore, the real-life victim of Candy Montgomery. Jesse Plemons plays Betty’s husband, Allan Gore, and Patrick Fugit plays Candy’s husband, Pat Montgomery. The two couples are seemingly normal, going to church and enjoying small-town life. Both husbands work for tech companies in “The Silicon Prairie.” Both wives sing in the church choir and their daughters are friends. But, clearly, something goes wrong behind this veneer. Love & Death will also co-star Keir Gilchrist, Elizabeth Marvel, Tom Pelphrey, and Krysten Ritter.
This certainly looks like it will be an intense, dramatic role for Elizabeth Olsen. Most recently, we saw her playing the grief-ridden Wanda Maximoff in the Disney+ series Wandavision. She was nominated for an Emmy thanks to her performance. The show itself was definitely divergent from your typical Marvel fare, with it leaning heavily into different sitcom formats that weren’t quite what they seemed. Elizabeth Olsen will be reprising her role as Wanda/The Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Marvel sequel Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
If you’re wanting to see Elizabeth Olsen light up the screen in something new, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be your best bet. The Doctor Strange sequel is slated for release on May 6, 2022, and just released a trailer prominently featuring Olsen’s character. Love & Death is currently filming, with a potential 2022 release, so you might have to wait a little longer to check out her performance as an ax murderer.
Love & Death is brought to us by David E. Kelley and Nicole Kidman, the duo behind Big Little Lies and The Undoing. Lionsgate Television is also on board as a producer. The executive producing team is rounded out by Lesli Linka Glatter, Scott Brown, Megan Creydt, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick, and Helen Verno. The first four episodes are directed by Glatter. Since this is a miniseries, we’ll likely only get one season. The season is set to have six episodes, so we’ll at least get a full story by the time the credits roll on the finale.
Stay tuned to find out exactly when you can see Elizabeth Olsen in Love & Death in 2022.
