See Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart’s Feuding Characters In Their Next Movie
Check out Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart playing their new, feuding characters. This movie is another one for the superhero genre.
Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart have formed something of an unlikely comedy team over the last few years. It’s a testament to both their talent and ability to play in a variety of films that has led to a lot of success in different projects. Well, now they are getting together once again for a project, this time in the superhero realm of things. But it isn’t exactly what you would immediately think of in this respect. Johnson and Hart will be voicing characters in the upcoming animated film DC League of Super-Pets. It’s set to be a different take on the superhero genre, this one following what happens when the heroes have pets of their own, and those pets have superhero powers.
In the newest images from DC League of Super-Pets, we see what Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart will look like in animated form. Their characters are at odds on the show and the series is set to follow some of what happens when heroes’ pets have some issues of their own. The images are courtesy of Entertainment Weekly and they do lay out part of what the cast will look like for this new show. Check them out:
On DC League of Super-Pets, Dwayne Johnson will be voicing Krypto the Superdog who is, you guessed it, Superman’s pet. From the looks of things it Krypto definitely knows who he is in this respect, possibly lacking some of the humility of his Kryptonian owner. In the first pictures, we see him haughtily standing among the group and even looking on as others might not have the same range of ability. And then there is Kevin Hart who will be voicing Ace the Bat-Hound, Batman’s pooch. We see him having been frozen from something in one of the pics (Mr. Freeze’s pet maybe).
Joining Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in DC League of Super-Pets will be Diego Luna voicing Chip, the squirrel belonging to Green Lantern. The diminutive chip looks practically microscopic compared to the rest of the group. It’s unclear if she will have some of her owner’s ring powers. And then there is Vanessa Bayer voicing Merton, the turtle belonging to who else but The Flash? And finally, Natasha Lyonne will be taking on the role of PB, Wonder Woman’s pet pig.
Of course, we’ve seen Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart sharing the screen plenty over the years, mostly comedy style. They starred in Central Intelligence together which played up the role-reversal angle for the two characters with Johnson’s character going from picked-on high school dweeb to hulking government operative. He needs to team with up Hart’s character to solve some crimes. And then there is the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level. That reboot of the franchise has been a massive success, grossing over $1.7 billion dollars at the box office through the first two films.
We will get Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart teaming up for DC League of Super-Pets when it hits screens next spring on May 20, 2022. And it will be a superhero kind of summer for Johnson, especially who is also set to star in Black Adam.
