Big surprise for Hollywood. This time around, he’s taking on a classic Disney ride and turning it into a film, the same way Johnny Depp did with Pirates of the Caribbean. But can The Rock and Emily Blunt really pull off that kind of success again? The pandemic affecting the box office notwithstanding, can they tell a story that fans will truly love?

The skipper is going to accompany her on an adventure down the Amazon river, in a boat that’s seen better days. The movie had a $200 million budget, so you can expect some stunning visual effects and a big blockbuster feel for Jungle Cruise.
This will already be Emily Blunt’s second release during 2021, having just seen Quiet Place II release to box office success, one of the first movies to do so during the pandemic. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson has a number of movies coming out in the near future, including a thriller called Red Notice for Netflix in November and Black Adam for DC, which just finished filming and will release in July, 2022.
