Natalie Portman isn’t the only star getting shredded for a superhero gig. While she and Chris Hemsworth are busy bulking up for their respective Marvel roles, DC is prepping its own powerhouses. One of these heavy-hitters is none other than Dwayne Johnson, whose Black Adam will be thundering into theaters next year.

Now, you can totally see Dwayne Johnson getting even more ripped for the titular role in DC’s Black Adam solo film. You can check him out below:

At first glance, it looks like this is just another day at the gym for Dwayne Johnson. But if you look below the picture, he very clearly hashtagged it with #blackadam.

While it is nice to see Dwayne Johnson taking his preparation for Black Adam seriously, it isn’t like he really needed to bulk up. At least, not much. The guy is an absolute beast, but hey, whatever he thinks he needs to do is just fine with me.

Despite being over a year away, Black Adam is getting an odd amount of press. From rumors that Dwayne Johnson wanted his character to interact with SnyderVerse staples to whispers that he was going to restore the SnyderVerse, there has been rampant speculation surrounding the film’s belated release.

Dwayne Johnson is an extremely busy guy. Not only is he set to star in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, but he will also be appearing alongside Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds in Netflix’s Red Notice. Recently, he also starred as Luke Hobbs in the Fast and the Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw, as well as Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and its sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level. Up next, he will be returning as Raymond Gaines in San Andreas 2 and as Doc Savage in Doc Savage.

In addition to Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, DC and Warner Bros. have quite a few exciting new projects in the pipeline. Following last month’s release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, fans have wondered where and how that director’s vision would fit into the DC Extended Universe’s future. To the disappointment of many, it won’t. But while we will not ever get that Justice League sequel, we have plenty to which we can look forward. After all, The Flash is coming, as are several HBO Max shows centering around popular DC characters.

It will be interesting to see just how much more shredded Dwayne Johnson can get. He certainly seems to think the role demands it, and if that is true, then more power to him! I just want him to be a convincing Black Adam. I don’t care as much about him capturing the look as much as I do about him capturing the essence of the character. Luckily, from what we have seen so far, it looks like he is going to knock this portrayal out of the park. Honestly, we can’t wait.
