For Star Wars fans who’ve always dreamed of escaping to a galaxy far, far away, Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary two-night experience where guests get to be the hero. Patrons get to embark on a first-of-its-kind adventure, with the most immersive Star Wars story ever created.

While this sounds like an amazing adventure, Star Wars fans are astonished at the cost. For two people, the experience will cost $1,209 per guest per night. A trio of two adults and one child will pay $889 per guest per night. That’s wildly expensive, even by Disney World’s standards.

Walt Disney World announced the 2022 Star Wars: Galatic Starcruiser experience in a post on social media which said, “See It. Feel It. Live It.” While the attached video gives fans a more in-depth look at what they can expect.

Upon arrival at the Walt Disney World Resort terminal, guests will board a launch pod and rendezvous with the magnificent Halcyon star cruiser. Visitors can choose to stay in a cabin or suite with an exquisite view of space. Throughout the ship, you’ll interact with an eclectic collection of characters, sit down to exotic galactic cuisine and perhaps even plot a secret mission together.

As the itinerary continues, you’ll take the story further and deeper. Choose your path. Seek out the inner workings of the legendary starship, learn the traditional art of wielding a lightsaber and even jump on a transport to the planet Batuu, where your mission continues at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Disney also promises guests a selection of fine foods and a trip to Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. But the Star Wars-themed hotel has been criticized for its hefty price tag, with fans taking to Twitter to voice their displeasure.

“Disney Executives coming up with the price for the new Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel. #starwars #disneyworld #themeparks,” said one fan.

Another Star Wars fan hoped someone would sneak him on board. “Dear Future Galactic Starcruiser Participant, if you really want the true immersive experience, you’ll assist in smuggling me aboard the vessel.”

While someone else said, “The families that can afford Galactic Starcruiser aren’t going to be able to disconnect from their work for the two days of LARPing required to have a full experience. Imagine taking a business call in the middle of an interrogation with the first order.”

While Disney’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a unique, fully immersive experience that can’t be found anywhere else, it’s important to consider how much further than the volume of money can go. The Walt Disney World website offers hotel and ticket packages at a wide variety of prices. Although the cost might be daunting under normal circumstances, it seems pretty affordable compared to a weekend on the Galactic Starcruiser.

According to the resort’s website, if two guests wanted to visit Disney World on the same week that the new Star Wars experience launches, they could pay as little as $1,087 for two nights and three days at the All-Star Movies hotel – with theme park tickets included. And if they wanted to stay for a full week, it would cost a mere $2,218 (comparatively).

But if you’re a Star Wars fan who can afford to splurge on the adventure, Disney’s Galactic Starcruiser is expected to open just in 2022 just in time for Spring.
