Demon Slayer is a popular anime series, thanks to not only its emotional storyline but its epic fight scenes and amazing animation. However, the latest season, covering the Hashira Training Arc, hasn’t been as popular as the previous ones. Despite the hate surrounding this season, the anime still stands strong as one of the best animes to date.

Fans Weren’t Excited To See The Arc

The Hashira Training arc of Demon Slayer was one many fans weren’t looking forward to seeing adapted from the manga, as it’s considered rather unimportant and bland. Even once it was adapted, there were a lot of complaints about the season being slow and boring, claiming it to be the worst season of the anime.

The Lowest Rated Season Is Still One Of Anime’s Best

While it is indeed the lowest-rated season of Demon Slayer, scoring an average rating of 8.17 on My Anime List, that by no means proves the season or the show is bad. In fact, despite all the hate, the Hashira Trining Arc, the fourth season of the anime, has done well for itself.

To put it into perspective, with a score of 8.17, the Hashira Training Arc is ranked number 428 amongst all anime on My Anime List, which is not a bad place to be. So, while this might be the worst season of Demon Slayer, it still manages to be one of the best series out there.

Eye-Popping Physical Media Sales

Demon Slayer

In the first week of sales, this season’s second volume of DVDs and Blu-rays sold nearly 9,000 units. This has pushed Demon Slayer to have sold over 3 million copies since it first started. The anime itself accounts for 940 thousand sales, and the Mugen Train film has sold nearly 2 million alone.

These numbers are even before the series is finished. Demon Slayer still has one more arc, the Infinity Castle arc, which will be released via a trio of films. This is by far one of the most popular parts of the manga, and the three films are expected to be some of the most popular parts of the animated series, possibly even beating out Mugen Train.

Slaying Demons

Demon Slayer centers around a boy named Tanjiro Kamado (Natsuki Hanae). He lives in the mountains with his family until one day they are killed by a demon, except for his sister, Nezuko (Akari Kitou). Unfortunately, she isn’t spared and though she’s alive, she has been turned into a mindless demon.

Thanks to a few past and present members of the Demon Slayer Corps, namely Giyu (Takahiro Sakurai) and Sakonji (Houchuu Ootsuka), they managed to get Nezuko a little more under control. However, to fully return her to a human, they must learn more about demons and fight the worst of them all, Muzan (Toshihiko Seki).

Every Season Is On Crunchyroll

The series is animated by Ufotable Studio (Fate/Zero), a team known for its epic animation, which it puts fully on display for Demon Slayer.

If you want to watch Demon Slayer, the movie and all of the seasons are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Or, you can help boost those numbers and buy the DVD copies.
