The battle between Marvel and DC has been a sight to see as the former titan has been winning across the board with its juggernaut franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The latter has been all over the place with multiple universes and standalone adaptions for movies and TV. Now, it has finally beaten the Disney-owned company at something.

Nielsen has streaming rankings, where they have ranked the biggest shows and movies on streaming based on minutes viewed by the millions. The statistics focus on viewership in June. For Marvel, we got a look at how Loki is breaking records for the company as the third most-streamed show overall. However, DC beat it with its Netflix fantasy series Sweet Tooth. This Netflix series is the most streamed show for June, with 1,434 million minutes streamed, as opposed to Marvel’s 731 million minutes streamed for Loki.

While both DC and its rival were successful, the results were not what was expected considering the trend lately between the two companies when it comes to any kind of statistic, whether it is based on viewership or otherwise. On the Marvel spectrum, Loki has proven to be quite mighty. The god of mischief fiddling with the Time Variance Authority has been a big hit for Marvel with its 731 million minutes streamed. Previously, the MCU hit it big on Disney+ with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with 495 million minutes, and WandaVision with 434 million. However, DC has knocked it out of the park with Sweet Tooths viewership on Netflix.

DC got the number one spot on the list for Sweet Tooth. Lucifer managed the second place position with 1,012 million minutes viewed. Marvel’s Loki took the third place. Each show below has a considerable drop. The Handmaid’s Tale was the last non-Netflix series, and it had 422 million. The rest below it, in order, were: The Kominsky Method with 235 million, Ragnarok with 182 million, Longmire with 156 million, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous with 142 million, and The Great British Baking Show with 137 million minutes viewed.

While these rankings look at original series, acquired shows also had interesting streaming rankings for June. Even in this bracket, between the two superhero giants, DC comes out on top. The top dog on that list is the now-scrapped Manifest with 1.11 billion minutes viewed. From there on, the acquired series rank much lower, with Loki wiping the floor with its 731 million. Starting at second place, technically lower if we combined both acquired and original, is Grey’s Anatomy with 686 million, Criminal Minds with 656 million, Downton Abbey with 630 million, NCIS with 528 million, Cocomelon with 515 million, Dirty John with 474 million, L.A.’s Finest with 391 million, Heartland with 380 million, and Supernatural at the bottom with its 354 million minutes viewed.

Clearly, the new Netflix series for DC is doing very well among all streaming shows available. Sweet Tooth, is based on a comic run starting in 2009 by the same name. It was created by written and drawn by Canadian Jeff Lemire.

The Netflix adaption of the DC comic is currently at one season with eight episodes. It was created by Jim Mickle (Hap and Leonard) and Beth Schwartz (Arrow). It stars Adeel Akhtar (The Big Sick), Christian Convery (Legion), Nonso Anozie (Cinderella), Aliza Vellani (The Twilight Zone), Dania Ramirez (Heroes), Stefania LaVie Owen (Krampus), and James Brolin (The Amityville Horror).
