Glass Onion is Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated follow-up to 2019’s critically acclaimed feature Knives Out, and it’s currently available to stream on Netflix. While the film sees a fresh batch of characters caught up in a brand-new murder mystery, viewers seemed more interested in examining the head of star Dave Bautista than the whodunit aspect of the flick. In fact, a simple search of the wrestler-turned-actor’s name on Twitter will pull up seemingly countless comments about the strange wrinkles on his dome.

In the sequel, Dave Bautista plays Duke Cody, a Twitch streamer and men’s rights activist. While the former WWE star received heaps of praise for his performance as the character, fans couldn’t help but notice the odd skin on the top of the actor’s head throughout the film. Although the creases on his head have likely been present for quite some time, the numerous close-ups of the star’s fully shaved dome during the feature had them sticking out like a sore thumb.

While some viewers took to Twitter to poke fun at the actor’s wrinkles, others offered explanations about the unusual lines. One user theorized that head creases are a common trait among professional wrestlers like Dave Bautista. They suggested that because the skin covering the skull is extremely thin and bleeds effortlessly, the performers slice the region with “concealed razors” to make for a bloody spectacle.

Regardless of how Dave Bautista obtained his head frumples, the 53-year-old actor continues to dazzle viewers with his incredible acting chops. Although wrestlers-turned-movie-stars are seemingly a dime a dozen, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor has managed to place himself on an entirely different level than WWE icons like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, and Steve Austin. He continues to bolster his resume with intriguing and diverse projects, and thanks to another remarkable turn in Glass Onion, it’s clear Bautista has a bright future as a Hollywood performer.

Glass Onion sees the return of Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig), who’s invited to a lavish private estate on a Greek Island where he meets a distinctly disparate group of friends gathering at the invitation of billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton) for an annual reunion.

Among those on the guest list are Andi (Janelle Monáe), Claire (Kathryn Han), Lionel (Leslie Odom Jr.), Birdie Jay (Kate Hudson) and her assistant Peg (Jessica Henwick), and Duke (Dave Bautista) and his girlfriend Whiskey (Madelyn Cline). When one in the group is found murdered, the remaining survivors seek to unravel the identity of the killer.

After a brilliant performance as the flamboyant, gun-loving Duke Cody in Rian Johnson’s hilarious sequel, Dave Bautista will showcase his more serious side in next year’s Knock at the Cabin. The M. Night Shyamalan-directed thriller centers on a vacationing couple and their daughter, who are taken hostage by armed strangers. The latter demand that the family makes a shocking choice to avert the apocalypse. The film, which arrives in theaters on February 3, 2023, also stars Rupert Grint, Jonathan Groff, Ben Alridge, Kristen Cui, Kat Murphy, William Ragsdale, and Abby Quin.
