Darth Vader

Could it be? After making a bloody entrance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, there are beginning to be rumors swirling around Darth Vader’s appearance in another upcoming Star Wars based series, Ahsoka. With the history and bond between the two almost as tightly knit as the force that surrounds them, it’s highly possible, and even probable that Anakin will make an appearance in the highly anticipated Disney+ series. After all, Anakin was Ahsoka’s former master, something that will connect the two forever, just as Anakin is tethered to Obi-Wan.

Now The Direct and others are reporting rumors making the rounds that Vader will, in fact, be appearin in Ahsoka. The chances of a Darth Vader based storyline on Ahsoka was made even more rumor worthy when last year, leading actress Rosario Dawson made an oopsie by welcoming Hayden Christensen – who plays Darth Vader – back to the fold. The post was almost immediately taken down, but the damage was already done with the internet already speculating on the accidental news. Solidifying herself as the Tom Holland of the Star Wars world, Dawson played it off well, but it was too late. Another point of conjecture came from Making Star Wars who revealed that the team behind Darth Vader’s reemergence in Obi-Wan Kenobi is attached to another Star Wars based project. Although this hasn’t been confirmed, it’s believed that James Earl Jones, Hayden Christensen, and the rest of the gang responsible for bringing Vader back to life will be doing so again for Ahsoka

Now, with the reentrance of Darth Vader into the television series world, it seems like anything is possible. Although we’ve known for a long time that Hayden Christensen would be reprising his role as the Sith Lord in Obi-Wan Kenobi, the show has taken its sweet time to give him his first appearance. The unmasking (if you will), came to us in the latest episode, titled “Episode 3.” The high octane installment saw Anakin Skywalker’s emergence from the bacta tank following his charred take down. And just like that, the Sith Lord was back and ready for vengeance.

Reentering life with an even greater penchant for death and destruction, viewers looked on as Darth Vader ruthlessly attacked innocent villagers, and tried to do what had been done to him (re: burned alive) to his old master and pal, Obi-Wan. This was certainly the most brutal we’ve ever seen the good guy turned bad as he tried to destroy any lasting remnants of his previous life. And, as the chances of Darth Vader easing up on the evil are slim, we can expect to see way more where that came from as Obi-Wan Kenobi plays out.

Meanwhile, Darth Vader’s last friend in life (at least at this point) is Ahsoka Tano. In Star Wars Rebels, fans were shown the knock-down-drag-out and all around heartbreaking fight between the two on Malachor, which is something that could point to Vader’s appearance in Ahsoka. If the show’s production knows what was best for them, they’d give the fans what they want and give that showdown the live-action dramatization that it deserves!

While the rumor mill will only continue to churn, we’ll need to wait patiently for the reveal of Darth Vader’s fate in Ahsoka and, for that matter, in Obi-Wan Kenobi. While his comeback ushered in a reign of brutality, we can’t wait to see what will happen next for the Jedi turned Sith Lord.
