Daredevil’s New MCU Suit Revealed
The new year is almost upon us, and with it, Marvel’s hotly anticipated Disney+ series, Echo. While Echo is a cool character in her own right, most fans are looking forward to the return of another character: Daredevil. Details are scarce, but what we do know is that the man without fear will definitely be popping up at some point in Echo. What’s more, he’ll be once again clad in a red Daredevil suit instead of the one he wore in She-Hulk.
Thanks to the recent Echo trailer, we now know that the red Daredevil suit will indeed be back and making its MCU debut early next year. Whether Daredevil will keep his red suit for the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Disney + series remains to be seen. We’re going to go ahead and assume the answer is yes, however. Either red or some red and black variation.
Daredevil is known for wearing all red—and with good reason.
Ever since Charlie Cox first showed up in the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home fans have been salivating over Daredevil finally joining the MCU proper. Sure, the Daredevil Netflix show was originally conceived as occurring in the same universe as The Avengers, but things changed. After the Netflix series was canceled, fans knew it wasn’t a done deal that the version of Daredevil they had grown to love would show up in the MCU.
But show up, he did! First, in the above-mentioned cameo—strictly as Matt Murdock only—before again donning the Daredevil suit for She-Hulk. And while no fan wants to look a gift horse in the mouth, it was slightly jarring to see a now bubbly, cheerful Daredevil beating up thugs wearing a mustard-colored mask.
As for how much of that red Daredevil suit fans will see in Echo, the answer is probably very little.
And yes, pedantic comic fans, we know you’re screaming at your phone right now, “Daredevil’s original suit was yellow!” But—and we mean this in the nicest way possible—so what? Yellow is an unappealing color, and the only superhero who can really pull it off is Wolverine.
Daredevil is known for wearing all red—and with good reason. The only devils that should be yellow are Etrigan, the rhyme-happy hellspawn from DC, and the insanely hard Yellow Devil boss from Mega Man. Daredevil’s suit should be red, always and forever.
Thanks to the recent Echo trailer, we now know that the red Daredevil suit will indeed be back and making its MCU debut early next year.
If one is going to call themselves the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, they really should look the part. We’re not saying that Hell’s Kitchen wouldn’t have mustard but Satan seems like more of a hot sauce guy, and what color is hot sauce? Red.
As for how much of that red Daredevil suit fans will see in Echo, the answer is probably very little. We know from Hawkeye that Echo has a long and complicated relationship with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin, and where there’s Kingpin, there’s Daredevil.
However, the series is described as a show dealing with a lot of childhood trauma and how that shapes people, so we can only assume that Daredevil will show up for nothing more than a glorified cameo to allow more room for the Echo/Kingpin drama.
Of course, as of right now, IMDb lists Charlie Cox appearing in all five episodes, so the amount of screen time Daredevil’s snazzy new suit will get is really anyone’s guess.
All five episodes of Echo will be available to stream on Disney+ and Hulu on January 9, 2024.
