Daredevil: Born Again Not Bringing Back The Most Important Person In The Original Series?
The new Disney+ TV series Daredevil: Born Again is coming to the streaming service in spring 2024, and fans can expect to see a lot of new faces in the cast and action sequences. So far, only two actors from the Daredevil franchise are set to reprise their roles in the new show: Charlie Cox as Matthew Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. Unfortunately, Charlie Cox’s stunt double Chris Brewster will not be returning for the new series, according to ComicBook.com.
None of the award-winning stunt crew from Daredevil are returning for Born Again.
Despite his work on the three previous Daredevil seasons on Netflix, Chris Brewster was not invited to perform his stunt work for Daredevil: Born Again. The star of the show, Charlie Cox, went out of his way and fought to have Brewster on the stunt team, as he always does, but the studio didn’t even give him a phone call. According to Brewster, nobody else from the first three seasons is either returning for the new show, so at least he is not alone.
With all of the action sequences and fight scenes throughout the Daredevil franchise, we anticipate there being plenty more in Daredevil: Born Again, so it’s surprising that Marvel would choose not to work with an experienced performer like Chris Brewster.

The stunt man has done plenty of work for the MCU in the past, including stunt work for Owen Wilson in Loki, and he has worked as a fight coordinator and performed stunts on Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Black Panther. Outside of the MCU, Chris Brewster has an impressive resume with his work on other action-packed projects like Renfield, Black Adam, and The Tomorrow War.
When asked about his thoughts on action scenes that involve CGI, the stuntman did not hold back, and he shared his concerns about Daredevil: Born Again. He feels that there is too much CGI in MCU films and TV shows, especially in how they portrayed Daredevil in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, making him look like a cartoon. Without the use of practical stunts, CG has nothing to latch onto, so it makes everything look animated and unrealistic.
While the plot of Daredevil: Born Again is being kept under wraps, we do know that it will include 18 new episodes about the blind attorney turned crime-fighting vigilante. It is not a reboot of the series but rather a continuation of Daredevil’s story.
Where Daredevil Was Left In The MCU
The last time we saw Daredevil was in two episodes of 2022’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, where he flirtatiously fought with Tatiana Maslany as the She-Hulk. Before that, we also saw the attorney Matt Murdock giving legal advice to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
As fans eagerly anticipate the release of the Disney+ TV series Daredevil: Born Again, they can binge the first three seasons on the streaming platform. Hopefully, the new show will take Chris Brewster’s advice and tone down the use of CGI so that it won’t look too cartoonish.
