If you would have told us a year ago that Daniel Radcliffe, megastar from the Harry Potter franchise, would be taking on the role of Weird Al Yankovic, we would have laughed hysterically. We are still laughing hysterically, as the trailer for the film showcases a wild and exaggerated life. Radcliffe is set to take on the biopic role of a lifetime. At long last, we finally have the release date for the long-awaited film, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. You can see the poster revealing the release date below:

For those of you who haven’t seen the trailer that was released some two months ago for the Daniel Radcliffe-led Weird Al film, you are missing out. The above poster is just as ostentatious as the trailer is. Radcliffe does look great with the curled hair, accordion, and tracksuit. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story looks like it will accomplish exactly what it expects to, and that is to tell a largely exaggerated story about one of the best musicians to ever exist. The new film will be airing for free on The Roku Channel on November 4th.

What is great about the premise of this story, is that it had been written and performed already on the Funny or Die comedy channel, which was started by Will Ferrell. The faux trailer showcased Aaron Paul in the titular role, with Olivia Wilde as Madonna, Mary Steenburgen as Mrs. Yankovic, Gary Cole as Mr. Yankovic, and Patton Oswalt as Dr. Demento. Eric Appel wrote and directed the sketch for Funny or Die, and now he is getting the chance to bring the film to life. The cast for the Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is equally as impressive, as it contains Daniel Radcliffe in the titular role. Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, Rainn Wilson as Dr. Demento, Quinta Brunson as Oprah Winfrey, and many more.

Weird Al has always been about being a parody, which is how he built his career. His initial songs that emulated some of the biggest hits turned the man into a cultural icon. “Weird Al” Yankovic in 3-D became one of his biggest albums, as it contained the song, “Eat It.” That song was a parody of the smash-hit from Michael Jackson, “Beat It.” He would go on to write over 150 parody songs, sell over 12 million albums, and six platinum records. He has achieved massive success, which is respectable, but we expect his biopic to be nonsensical. We think that is exactly what he would want. The man’s life exaggerated life is now going to be brought to life in a new way by Daniel Radcliffe.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starring Daniel Radcliffe is set to premiere for free on The Roku Channel on November 4th. Fans of Radcliffe and Weird Al can watch the film and see both men become one. He does look fantastic in the role, and the film looks hilarious. Check out the trailer to see the craziness that the film is going to incorporate, and check out the film in November.
