The Best Kept Secret In A-List Leading Men Joins Season 3 Of Fan-Favorite Horror Series

While American Horror Story helped popularize the anthology horror series idea when it burst onto the scene over a decade ago, it certainly has not been alone in that category in the years since. Other shows have hopped on the trend as well and built up their own fandoms, such as AMC’s The Terror. And now with the latest outing of the show, it is gaining a fast rising star in the lead role, as actor Dan Stevens is on board for The Terror season 3.

Stevens Knows Monsters

Dan Stevens has already done a good amount of work on projects focused on monsters, though not ones that would typically be deemed scary. He played The Beast in the 2017 live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast.

And then more recently he also fraternized with some monsters of the gargantuan variety in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. So Dan Stevens should be right at home for some potential monster encounters in The Terror season 3.

The Devil In Silver

That will be helpful, as the latest season of the show may be dealing with the most dangerous monster known, the Devil himself. This season carries the subheading of The Terror: Devil in Silver, based on the novel by Victor LaValle.

Dan Stevens’ character will have to face this potential danger in The Terror season 3 while also being subjected to a classic horror scenario that many people fear: being wrongfully involuntarily committed to a mental institution.

The Supernatural Or Hallucination?

Mental institutions are popular fodder for scary scenarios, as the terrors of a warped mind can often be unrivaled by anything that reality has to offer.

By the sound of things, the latest season of The Terror will dabble in fears of the psychological variety as well as ambiguity whether possible demonic happenings are legitimate events, or symptoms of an unwell person. Dan Stevens sounds like he will have some compelling material for The Terror season 3.

Legion

Interestingly, Dan Stevens has actually appeared in a previous show set in a mental hospital before The Terror season 3. Stevens was also the lead in the TV series Legion that also devoted a great deal of its first season to time in a psychiatric hospital. So perhaps that will give him some good prior experience to model his new character off of.

However, it does appear that Dan Stevens is looking to expand his talents and ambitions beyond just acting, as he is also an executive producer for The Terror season 3.

When actors take on that role for projects it is usually an indicator that the role is a passion project for them. So perhaps in addition to building his credentials as a leading man, he also wants to do more to finance works that he has strong feelings about helping to make it to the screen.

For fans of the anthology series, they will unfortunately have to wait a fair bit longer to enjoy the latest season. It will not be until some time in 2025 that the Devil in Silver season debuts.

The Dan Stevens led The Terror season 3 will contain six episodes, and if it is anything like its prior seasons, it could be looking at some very strong critical reviews upon release.
