The Comic That Proves Jabba The Hutt Is A Real Lady Killer

When it comes to unsavory characters, Star Wars has them in spades. But of all the greasy, oozy piles of sentient garbage roaming around the cosmos, the greasiest, ooziest has to be Jabba the Hutt—specifically, the version from the Jabba the Hutt comic Jabba the Hutt: The Dynasty Trap.

Jabba Hungry

The Jabba the Hutt one-shot comic features The Great Bloated One engaging in the vilest behavior, including swallowing a woman whole. In the comic, Jabba worms his way over to a jail cell, reaches his disgusting tongue through the bars, and yanks a female prisoner out of the cell by her hair. The slimy glutton then stuffs her in his mouth headfirst and proceeds to choke the body down like a snake eating a small mammal.

That’s not the only crime against nature Jabba commits. Elsewhere in the same comic, Jabba the Hutt strangles an old man to death in his bed. As he’s squeezing the life out of the poor old fool, Jabba has the audacity to exclaim, “Shut up and die, you old idiot!”

Jabba Is Evil

Jabba the Hutt: The Dynasty Trap is a comic published by Dark Horse in August 1995. The one-shot has a loose plot about Jabba trying to sell a stolen freighter, but really, it’s just an excuse to show the villain performing a series of horrible deeds that make Darth Vader look like Hello Kitty. Among the grotesque shenanigans writer Jim Woodring crams into the comic’s 32 pages are Jabba crushing someone to death under his considerable bulk and even—blech!—eating spiders.

Limited By 1983 Technology

Anyone familiar with Return of the Jedi knows that Jabba the Hutt has always been a gross creep, though not quite as bad as he is in the Dynasty Trap comic. After all, while impressive in 1983, the one-ton animatronic puppet was severely limited in its mobility. As a result, Jabba spends all his scenes sitting in one spot.

Makes The Most Of His Limited Screentime

In just six minutes and forty-five seconds of screentime, Jabba manages to assault Princess Leia, feed Oola, the dancing Twi-Lek girl, to the Rancor, and bully his poor underlings. And yet, as despicable as all that is, it pales in comparison to what Jabba the Hutt gets up to in the Dynasty Trap comic. Oh, and we haven’t even mentioned the darkest thing Jabba does.

A Sadistic Gangster

After taking over the freighter, Jabba notices the previous owners were transporting slaves. The Hutt quickly realizes he can sell them and make a nice profit, but where’s the fun in that? Giving into his sadistic side, Jabba orders his second in command, Bib Fortuna, to jettison the poor slaves into deep space—without helmets or protective gear.

Jabba the Hutt watches the slaves claw desperately at their throats as he utters the most messed up line in the whole comic. Jabba stares silently out the viewport until his victims explode one by one. “Ha! I love to watch ’em pop!” he says, licking his repulsive lips.

Several Legends stories feature the revolting slug, but the Jabba the Hutt: The Dynasty Trap comic might just take the cake. It should be clear to fans by now Jabba the Hutt puts the scum and villainy in the phrase “A wretched hive of scum and villainy.”
