Cobra Kai Final Season Unleashes The Last Look
Cobra Kai is finally coming to an end, and Netflix just dropped the new trailer for the final season. The season will be split into three parts, a first for a Netflix series, so there will be plenty of time to soak in each set of five episodes. The first set of episodes is set to drop on July 18, and it looks like we’ll be getting plenty of karate action as the senseis train their students to compete in the Sekai Taikai, aka the world championship of karate.

Cobra Kai’s final season will release the second installment of five episodes on November 28 and the third installment sometime in 2025. So, while the series is coming to an end, Netflix is certainly making it feel like a real multi-month event. With Cobra Kai eliminated from the Valley and the aforementioned Sekai Taikai on the horizon, there’s a lot of ground to cover.
The series is a spin-off from The Karate Kid franchise and follows Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) as he finds inspiration to re-open the Cobra Kai dojo after leading a dead-end life for years.
Cobra Kai has been one of the most consistently well-reviewed Netflix shows since it first hit the platform in 2021 (with previous seasons appearing on YouTube), and it looks like the final season will end things on a high note. The series is a spin-off from The Karate Kid franchise and follows Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) as he finds inspiration to re-open the Cobra Kai dojo after leading a dead-end life for years.
Fans of the original film will remember that Johnny was defeated at the hands of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) in the All-Valley Karate Tournament after LaRusso was trained by the late, great Mr. Miyagi.
Mr. Miyagi also makes a brief appearance (by name) in the trailer for Cobra Kai’s final season, as they find a box that contains a secret the sensei seemingly hid away. It’s a pretty big teaser in the trailer, so we’ll have to wait and see what that glowing box contains when the season hits Netflix. Presumably, we’ll find out in the first five episodes, but it could also be a huge cliffhanger to set up the next batch of episodes.
While Cobra Kai will end with its final season in 2025, that doesn’t mean the Karate Kid franchise is done for good.
Along with Zabka and Macchio, the cast of Cobra Kai’s final season includes Martin Kove, Xolo Mariduena, Jacob Bertrand, Mary Mouser, Tanner Buchanan, Peyton List, Gianni DeCenzo, Courtney Henggeler, Vanessa Rubio, Dallas Dupree Young, Yuji Okumoto, Alicia Hannah-Kim, Griffin Santopietro and Oona O’Brien.
Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg serve as co-showrunners and executive producers on the series. Macchio, Zabka, Will Smith, James Lassiter, Caleeb Pinkett, and Susan Ekins also executive produce.

While Cobra Kai will end with its final season in 2025, that doesn’t mean the Karate Kid franchise is done for good. Filming has already wrapped on the next film in the Karate Kid franchise that features Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan reprising their roles from previous films, along with Ben Wang, Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, Ming-Na Wen, Aramis Knight, and Wyatt Oleff cast in new roles. That film is set to release on May 30, 2025.
In other words, fans of the Karate Kid franchise have a lot to look forward to next year. Make sure to catch the first part of Cobra Kai’s final season when it hits Netflix on July 18. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated on the rest of the season and the upcoming movie.
