In heart-breaking news, Tony McFarr, Christ Pratt’s stunt double who performed in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World franchises, has died. The circumstances of his passing, which came both shocking and unexpected, still remain unknown. The news was shared by Tony’s mother, Donna, stating that the stunt man passed away on Monday when he was found unresponsive at his home. He was 47 years old.
Doubled For Pratt In Multiple Movies
According to his mother, Tony passed away Monday at his home just outside Orlando, but the circumstance of Chris Pratt’s stunt double’s death remains unknown, especially since Tony was otherwise an active and healthy individual. Donna also shared that the medical examiner’s office is currently running toxicology tests, and the Orange County Medical Examiner has confirmed that they’re currently running tests but that the official cause of death is still pending.
Tony McFarr And Chris Pratt Became Close
Before he was Chris Pratt’s stunt double, Tony McFarr started his career in the cinematic industry on Bones, an American police procedural comedy-drama television series on Fox. He later worked on television shows like Teen Wolf and Homeland, as well as movies like The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, Furious 7, Captain America: Civil War, The Accountant, and Allegiant.
McFarr and the iconic actor developed their professional and personal relationship over time when Tony took over as Chris Pratt’s stunt double in Jurassic World, followed by Passengers, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
McFarr Worked All Around Hollywood
While performing as Chris Pratt’s stunt double. Tony reportedly suffered a fall during the filming of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in 2017, and the duo’s physical resemblance made for considerable social media mentions. Chris Pratt posted about Tony on social media over the years, sharing his love towards his stunt double, while the latter showed off his acting credits over the years after racking up a few credited appearances in shows like Macgyver, Burn Notice, and One Tree Hill.

Besides acting as Chris Pratt’s stunt double, Tony also doubled for Jon Hamm in 2018’s Tag. In recent years, however, Tony put his LSU MBA to good use and turned his attention to restaurant ownership. McFarr successfully started The Reed Bowl and Fit Kitchen, both located in Orlando.
