One Of Chris Pratt’s Best Movies Is Blowing Up On Netflix

Audiences hungry for a major blockbuster experience are currently getting their fix on Netflix. Chris Pratt’s Jurassic World is currently the seventh most-watched movie worldwide on the streaming service.
Have you seen Jurassic World? It seems pretty likely. When this movie hit theaters in the summer of 2015, it earned $1.67 billion worldwide at the box office. This was on a budget of $150 million. As one of the greatest financial successes to date, this Chris Pratt movie has stood out as one of his best. These numbers also mean a great deal of the audience checking in on Netflix right now are showing up for a rewatch. If you’re in the mood for a Hollywood blockbuster full of awesome effects, Jurassic World is an easy choice.
The original Jurassic Park trilogy from the 90s was a global success. When Chris Pratt showed up in a new trilogy in 2015, audiences weren’t sure what to expect. The story follows Pratt as Owen Grady. He’s working at a new theme park, built over the ruins of the original. The franchise is known for poking a bit of fun at the idea of scientists and people with big money funding ideas that are clearly doomed to turn to horror. Like creating a park full of dinosaurs. Or then recreating the same idea on the site of where the last disaster happened. Still, Owen and park visitors find themselves shocked when a T-rex gets free and goes on a killing spree. It’s a super fun movie with great visual effects. There are many memorable moments for Chris Pratt’s character as he attempts to keep dinosaurs in line.
Currently, Netflix users can also watch Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous on the streaming platform. This is an animated series with two seasons out so far. While Chris Pratt is not involved, the series was created by Colin Trevorrow, who is responsible for the Jurassic World movies, and Steven Spielberg, who directed Jurassic Park.
The offerings from Netflix are there to hold fans over who are excitedly waiting for Jurassic World: Dominion. This will be the sixth movie in the franchise, and the end of the Chris Pratt trilogy. Director Colin Trevorrow has said that this movie will tie together all previous events in the franchise. This means it will pull in events from the original trilogy as well as the two Chris Pratt movies we have so far. It will also tie in events from the Netflix series. Trevorrow has called it “a celebration of the whole franchise”.
Jurassic World: Dominion has the cast of the franchise working together to make the best conclusion to the double trilogy possible.
Sam Neill, who starred in Jurassic Park, has recently been doing interviews to promote his new movie Rams. Neill talked a bit about Dominion and working with Chris Pratt. He discussed how he has always seen his job as an actor to play the character. He said, “But, actually, when you’ve got an action movie, there’s a different job description.” Chris Pratt has experience working strictly as an actor on comedy series like Parks & Recreation, but his job as an action star has put him in Jurassic Park and Guardians of the Galaxy. Sam Neill said that he learned a lot from working with Pratt. He added that he, “hadn’t really worked out how to do that until I got to number three, but I think I’m actually better in the third one.”
Currently, Chris Pratt is working on Thor: Love and Thunder. We’ve already gotten a first look behind-the-scenes on this one. He just returned to the states from filming in Australia, so it’s believed his role may be small. We’ll be catching these moments with Star Lord and Thor in 2022. That will tide Guardians of the Galaxy fans over until the third movie in that series is released in 2023.
Fans of Chris Pratt will have a new movie to watch sooner than that, though. The Tomorrow War is a sci-fi action movie. It was originally slated to release in theaters in 2021. While the deal is still ongoing, the studio is currently shopping around on streaming services for the movie. Amazon has made an offer for $200 million, so Prime members may be watching the movie there soon.
As for Jurassic World: Dominion, you’ll be able to watch the conclusion in theaters June 10, 2022.
