Chris Pratt Joining Netflix’s Most Anticipated Movie?
Chris Pratt is defending himself against charges of being the worst Chris, but he also might be another Netflix Chris soon.

Chris Pratt is in an odd position these days. He is simultaneously one of the biggest movie stars in the world, with multiple huge projects either in theaters, about to be released, or headed to multiple streaming platforms. On the other hand, he is infamously considered “the Worst Chris,” which has to rankle even a huge movie star. It probably helps that he may soon be joining one of the most anticipated projects from the single biggest streaming platform in the world along with one of the other current biggest stars, directed by two of the most commercially successful filmmakers ever. While it is not yet confirmed, word is that Chris Pratt will soon be joining Netflix’s upcoming The Electric State.
Per Deadline, Chris Pratt is heavily rumored to be joining The Electric State, a new science fiction film being produced by Netflix. The film is set to star Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown and is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, formerly of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is already a lot of star power behind a single film. The film has actually been in development for some years and was originally going to be produced by Universal before being locked down by Netflix in 2020. Once Big Red too it on board, Millie Bobby Brown was attached as a star and it looks like Chris Pratt might soon be co-starring.
The Electric State is adapted from the illustrated novel by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag, who is particularly noted for his visual depictions of dystopian yet pastoral landscapes. In this particular work, Millie Bobby Brown will portray an orphan teen crossing a retro-futuristic Western America with a mysterious loner and a quirky robot in tow. A few years ago, Chris Pratt voicing a lovable and weird robot would seem like a no-brainer, but that is when the actor was most known for his comedic work on Parks & Recreation and The Lego Movie. Now, Chris Pratt seems to be pivoting to grimmer action genre pictures, so we could easily see him trying to take on the role of a Man with No Name-style drifter as well.
If Chris Pratt does join the cast of The Electric State, this would reunite him with the Russo Brothers; they formerly directed him in Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, but recently seemed to have switched their allegiances from Disney to Netflix. The Russo Brothers are currently directing the equally-anticipated spy action film The Gray Man, which will star another Endgame actor Chris Evans and future Marvel star Ryan Gosling. Reportedly, The Gray Man will be Netflix’s most expensive production ever and is likely intended as a franchise-starter for the streaming platform. If nothing else, it is sure that Netflix is putting a lot of eggs in the Russo Brothers basket.
We will have to wait on confirmation that Chris Pratt has joined The Electric State, but he very well may be at the end of his turns in the MCU and with the Jurassic Park franchise. Netflix, up next?
