Chris Pratt Meets Up With The Jurassic Park Cast In Stunning Jurassic World Trailer
Old and new come together in the Jurassic World Dominion trailer!
This article is more than 2 years old
The first full trailer for Jurassic World Dominion is here, and it’s going to make you want to go back and rewatch the whole saga — starting with 1993’s Jurassic Park. Along with giving us a glimpse of a world growing more and more dangerous with the dinosaurs finally free of the various parks and islands, we see the old and the new collide. Chris Pratt comes face-to-face with the big three of the original film — Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum.
The trailer opens with the voice of the late Richard Attenborough, who played Hammond in the first two Jurassic Park films — the mastermind behind the dangerous venture of bringing dinosaurs into the modern world. We see the immediate impact of the dinosaurs’ escape from the end of 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom; men on horseback chase herds of dinos to wrangle them, the massive Deinosuchus takes out a fishing boat, Velociraptors chase Chris Pratt through a city, and Triceratops bowl over cars with a nod of their heads. And of course there’s the reunion of Alan Grant (Neill) and Ellie Satler (Dern), and as always Ian Malcolm (Goldblum) is giving warnings about the power of nature which — when Pterodactyls are pulling planes out of the sky — seems kind of a little late. You can watch the trailer below.
Goldblum last reprised the role of Malcolm in the first sequel to Jurassic Park, 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, while Neill and Dern appeared without Goldblum in 2001’s Jurassic Park III. The trailer seems designed to get that nostalgia pumping for the original trilogy, particularly the first film. Certain shots look like they were pulled right from the first movie, in particular a moment toward the end of the trailer when a T-rex’s massive foot slams into the ground in front of Chris Pratt and the other heroes.
Along with Chris Pratt once again playing Velociraptor-whisperer Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard is returning as Claire Dearing. With Jurassic World Dominion, BD Wong — playing Dr. Henry Wu — earns the distinction of being the only actor in the series to appear in the first film and all three chapters of the Jurassic World trilogy. DeWanda Wise (She’s Gotta Have It) appears in the series for the first time as Kayla. A lot hasn’t been revealed about Wise’s character, though from the looks of the trailer she’s a pilot and also isn’t too scared to stand toe-to-toe against the dinos if she has to.
Jurassic World Dominion hits theaters June 10. The film stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Mamoudou Athie (The Circle), Scott Haze (Venom), Dichen Lachman (Raya and the Last Dragon), Daniella Pineda (The Vampire Diaries), Campbell Scott (Singles), Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, DeWanda Wise, BD Wong, Elva Trill, and Dimitri Thivaios. Colin Trevorrow returns to direct, from a script by Trevorrow, Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising), and Derek Connolly (Pokémon Detective Pikachu).
