Chris Hemsworth And Pedro Pascal Team Up For Crime Thriller On Streaming
MCU’s Thor, aka Chris Hemsworth, and actor Pedro Pascal of the massively popular The Last of Us are starring together in a new crime thriller on streaming. However, the streaming platform hasn’t been decided yet, and the film, Crime 101, reportedly has both Netflix and Amazon locked in a bidding war, with the deal potentially hitting $100 million.
Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are locked in a bidding war over the thriller Crime 101, which will star Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal.
According to Deadline, both Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal are set to star in the upcoming Crime 101, which is based on a novella by New York Times bestselling author Don Winslow. Both actors expressed interest in the film before the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, with Bart Layton of American Animals attached to direct.
The production package was put together by Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner from Working Title and Shane Salerno from Story Factory. The streaming platform, however, remains undecided for the time being.
This financial battle makes sense. Both Pedro Pascal and Chris Hemsworth are at the height of their fame, and featuring a project that stars one of the two celebrities, much less two, would be a good catch for either streamer.
As per Deadline’s reports, two streaming giants are going head-to-head for this Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal project. While no deals are actually in place just yet, reports suggest that a deal might hit $100 million and that Amazon appears to have an edge over Netflix, so it’s quite possible for a streaming service that brought The Rings of Power to come out on top.

Hemsworth And Pascal’s Other Work
Admittedly, Pascal already has plenty on his plate, with The Last of Us Season 2 currently in the works and a role in Gladiator 2 and Minecraft, both of which are currently in pre-production. Both of these releases are currently on hold due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, while Drive-Away Dolls, which has completed its production cycle, has been delayed to 2024.
Chris Hemsworth, just like Pedro Pascal, also has plenty on his schedule. The actor recently starred in Extraction 2 and has Furiosa—a Mad Max prequel—lined up. Of course, he’s also likely to reprise his role as Thor, the God of Thunder, in future MCU releases, including Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Furiosa is currently in post-production, Transformers One—in which he voiced Optimus Prime, replacing the legendary Peter Cullen—is currently in development.
For those interested in Crime 101 with Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal, the movie is described as similar to Heat, focusing on high-profile jewel thefts on the Pacific Coast, with law enforcement connecting the crimes to the Colombian cartels. Police detective Lou Lubesnick, however, believes that the thefts are the work of a single thief looking for a final score. The original novella was published by HarperCollins in 2020 as part of Winslow’s collection Broken.
