Chris Hemsworth Is In Loki Season 2?
With Loki Season 2 set to premiere on Disney+ on October 5, executive producer Kevin Wright says the God of Mischief may still reunite with his brother. While Chris Hemsworth’s Thor has never been confirmed to be appearing in Loki, the hope is for the latter to rejoin the larger world of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the future.
“That’s the hope,” Wright told Variety in a recent interview. “I don’t want to – yeah. I think the sun shining on Loki and Thor once again has always been the priority of the story we’re telling. But for that meeting to really be fulfilling, we have to get Loki to a certain place emotionally. I think that’s been the goal of these two seasons.”

Although Chris Hemsworth might not be appearing in Loki Season 2, the plot promises lots of adventure. The story sees the titular God of Mischief team up with Mobius M. Mobius, Hunter B-15, and other Time Variance Authority (TVA) members to navigate the multiverse, searching for Sylvie, Ravonna Renslayer, and Miss Minutes.
Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki from the film series. He is joined by Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Renslayer, Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, Eugene Cordero as Casey/Hunter K-5E. Neil Ellice, Jonathan Majors, Rafael Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, and Ke Huy Quan also star.

Even if Tom Hiddleston’s Loki does eventually rejoin the larger MCU, it’s unclear if he will reunite with Chris Hemsworth. The Australian actor’s original contract with Marvel ended with Avengers: Endgame. However, he later signed on for 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder as he was impressed by the story and wanted to work with Taika Waititi again.
It is unclear if Chris Hemsworth signed a new multiple-project contract with Marvel after Love and Thunder. In an interview with GQ Australia, the actor alluded to closing the superhero chapter of his acting career.” I’m just at this place of this is the end of my contract, and [Thor: Love and Thunder] is it. I’m not going to shoot anything else. I’m going to shoot something else next year, but that’s unrelated.”
Thor And Loki’s MCU Journey
Chris Hemsworth debuted as the God of Thunder in the MCU’s 2011 film Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh. The movie marked the beginning of his journey as one of the central characters in the MCU. Thor is introduced as the impulsive Prince of Asgard, cast out of his homeland and stripped of his powers after an ill-fated attack on the Frost Giants.
Thor learns humility and responsibility while on Earth and ultimately proves himself worthy of his power and the title of the God of Thunder. Chris Hemsworth reprised his role as Thor in 2012’s The Avengers, which brought together Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, and others to battle the villainous trickster, Loki and an alien army.
Chris Hemsworth went on to play the God of Thunder in Thor: The Dark World, which sees him team up with Loki to defeat the dark elf Malekith and prevent the universe’s destruction. Hemsworth returned as Thor in Avengers: Age of Ultron, where the team faces off against the sentient AI known as Ultron.
He also starred in Thor: Ragnarok in 2017. Directed by Taika Waititi, this film took a more comedic and colorful approach to Thor, who teams up with the Hulk and Valkyrie to prevent the prophesied destruction of Asgard. Chris Hemsworth also starred in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, the epic two-part conclusion to the Infinity Saga.
