First Look At Chris Hemsworth Back As Thor For Thor: Love And Thunder
With filming currently underway for Thor: Love and Thunder, the first photos of Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt on set have been revealed.

Right now, Marvel is in production on three high-profile films: the supposedly multiverse-laden third Spider-Man film, as well as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Each of these will team up the film’s star with other characters, as Doctor Strange will appear in Spider-Man 3, and Wanda Maximoff will return in Doctor Strange. With these first look photos from the set of Thor: Love and Thunder, not only do we see Chris Hemsworth returning at Thor, but we also get our latest glimpse of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord.
While these first photos of Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pratt from Thor: Love and Thunder are taken behind-the-scenes and not when they were filming, there are still a few things that can be parsed from these images. The first is that it looks like Fat Thor is gone, and Chris Hemsworth is back to his muscular and long-haired self, after going with a short haircut in Thor: Ragnarok. Meanwhile, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord looks exactly the same as ever. In one photo, we can also see what looks like a miniature horse of some kind? Could it be that Chris Pratt is reunited with Lil Sebastian?? Did the snap bring Lil Sebastian back??
Filming for Thor: Love and Thunder began last month, with Taika Waititi returning to the franchise after Thor: Ragnarok. Waititi has said that Thor: Love and Thunder will adapt the Mighty Thor comic books, which has Jane Foster taking on the character of Thor after she is diagnosed with cancer. Natalie Portman is returning to the franchise as Jane Foster, after not appearing in Thor: Ragnarok. There are also rumors that while Waititi has Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy cast in one place, he will be shooting footage for the upcoming EPCOT ride, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
In addition to the return of Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, Thor: Love and Thunder will also bring back Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, and Waititi will voice Korg. Since we last saw Thor riding off with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the film will also feature Chris Pratt, Pom Klmentieff as Mantis, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Karen Gillan as Nebula. It’s also assumed that Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel will reprise the voices of Rocket and Groot, respectively, although there is no word if Zoe Saldana will be returning as Gamora.
Fighting against Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, and supposedly Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor, is the relatively new villain, knows as Gorr the God Butcher, who was introduced in the comics in 2013. Playing Gorr will be Oscar winner Christian Bale. Even with this packed cast, Thor: Love and Thunder will even see the return of Matt Damon, who also appeared in Thor: Ragnarok. It’s unclear if he will be making another cameo, or if he will have a more substantial role in this new film.
But there’s still a while to wait to see Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and the rest of the Guardians reunite, as Thor: Love and Thunder is currently scheduled for release on May 6, 2022.
