It could just be a coincidence, but with a change in Charlie Cox’s schedule and reported reshoots happening for Spider-Man: No Way Home, speculation has begun to run wild that we will see the return of his Daredevil in Tom Holland’s third standalone movie as the web-slinger.

Celebrity Fan Fest announced that it would have a new guest appearance as one of the members of its lineup has had to back out, Charlie Cox. The event, which goes between August 6 and 7, did say that attendees will have refunds issued for photo ops and autographs. For people who already sent something in for a signature, then the actor said everything would get signed.

Since its cancellation on Netflix, fans have been waiting to see if any of the Defenders will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, especially Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and his alter-ego. No confirmations have been made clear, but rumors are turned into a frenzy. The most of these discussions have circled around No Way Home.

The confirmation of Doc Ock and the rumors around other Spider-Men, villains, and Charlie Cox to potentially aid the neighborhood-friendly superhero is making this one of the most mysterious movies on Marvel’s slate.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige addressed the possibility of Charlie Cox or anyone else reprising their roles. He told Deadline that since his time at the company, he learned to “never say never about anything.” He did mention that with their announced roster of movies and shows, that is where he is focused. That said, cameos and surprise roles can happen, as the franchise has proven.

Prior to getting axed one by one, the Netflix Marvel shows were met with a mixed reception. The one that shined was the three seasons of Daredevil. Charlie Cox, who played the hero, portrayed a tortured man trying to balance his work and crime-fighting lives.

If we don’t see Charlie Cox as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in Spider-Man: No Way Home, there is another rumor going around that is interesting. Grace Randolph, the creator of the YouTube channel Beyond the Trailer, tweeted that the actor will appear with Tom Holland as Matt Murdock but will be in his red costume for the Disney Plus series, She-Hulk. While we cannot confirm the information, it is something to chew on. Bruce Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters (played by Orphan Black‘s Tatiana Maslany), who gets his powers, is a lawyer, like the Man Without Fear.

Hold a grain of salt for all of this, but there might be some validity to the She-Hulk rumors. Charlie Cox opting out of that convention lines up with the fact that the upcoming Disney Plus series reportedly started filming in Atlanta, Georgia, back in April. Depending on where they are in production, he could manage an appearance.

Another possibility is that Charlie Cox might make an appearance in Hawkeye. We got the scoop from one of our trusted and proven sources that he will meet Jeremy Renner’s Avenger in some capacity. The series has no release date but is set to come to Disney Plus by the fall or winter of this year.

Marvel’s secrecy always amps people up to try to find answers where answers cannot be found. If it is true that we will see Charlie Cox in No Way Home, we don’t have too much longer to wait. The movie will hit theaters on December 17. Meanwhile, She-Hulk is set to hit Mickey Mouse’s streaming service sometime next year.
