Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock run through the jungle in The Lost City trailer!

Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock have a new movie coming out, and there is no better place to drop a trailer than at the Big Game itself, Super Bowl LVI. But the internet being what it is, we get to have a quick sneak peek at it before Sunday. In their upcoming action-comedy The Lost City, Bullock plays a novelist named Loretta Sage who specializes in the kind of steamy romance adventures that have a long-haired hunk posing shirtless on the cover. As you could immediately gather, Tatum plays her cover model, Dash. Loretta is kidnapped by a deranged billionaire (Daniel Radcliffe, always eager to step away from Harry Potter) who whisks her to a jungle in the belief that she can help him find an actual treasure. Dash follows, jungle shenanigans ensue, and Brad Pitt shows up. You can check out the trailer here:
It honestly looks pretty great. Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock have proved their comedic bonafides many times over at this point, and they have great chemistry. Apparently pulling fake leeches off Tatum’s naked behind (for the film) is one of the worst things that Bullock has had to do in her career. Considering she starred in Speed 2: Cruise Control, that is saying a lot. But Tatum is also great as ever as a well-meaning but slightly dimwitted beefcake, and Daniel Radcliffe is acting through the roof as a polite, yet maniacal treasure hunter. He has spent the last several years trying to expand his range in horror movies and an A24 movie in which he is stuck on a desert island with the bloated corpse of Paul Dano, so this is another good step away from Hogwarts. And, of course, there is a cameo appearance from Brad Pitt as the real-life version of the golden-maned action hero that Tatum only pretends to be. In the highlight of the trailer, Pitt explains why he’s so good looking: his dad was a weatherman.
Surprisingly, Channing Tatum has actually not appeared in a full-on live action starring role since 2017’s Steven Soderbergh heist movie Logan Lucky with Adam Driver and Daniel Craig. Along with The Lost City, he is set to star in his directorial debut Dog, a film in which he has been very clear, the titular dog does not die at the end. Tatum apparently took several years off from on screen acting in part because of his trauma at losing his dream project, a movie starring himself as the Marvel X-Men character Gambit. He is also set to reunite with Steve Soderbergh for Magic Mike 3, the conclusion to a trilogy of films that dared ask “does America want to see Channing Tatum naked?” Sandra Bullock will also reunite with Brad Pitt for the upcoming action movie Bullet Train, after Lady Gaga was forced to drop out due to scheduling difficulties with Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci. The Lost City will premiere at Austin’s SXSW film festival, and be released in theaters on March 25.
