Celebrity Jeopardy Hits Highest Rating With Record-Breaking Loser
Becky Lynch may be a superstar in the world of WWE, but she definitely was not “The Man” on Wednesday’s Celebrity Jeopardy! episode, according to ComingSoon. During the episode, Lynch set a new Jeopardy record by answering zero out of 60 questions correctly in the first two rounds of play.
Jeopardy Hits Big Ratings
The November 15 airing of the show featured Lynch, Macaulay Culkin (Home Alone), and Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live) as contestants. For whatever reason, the episode had the highest viewership of recent Celebrity Jeopardy! episodes at 4.2 million viewers tuning in to watch.
Each of the celebrities was playing for a different charity. Becky played for The V Foundation, in support of WWE’s signature charity, Connor’s Cure. Don’t worry. Celebrity Jeopardy! is set up so that there are no losers. Lynch’s charity received a donation of $33,000 when it was all said and done.
Becky Lynch Struggles
During the first round (the Jeopardy round), Lynch had trouble with her buzzer, but she was able to chime in a total of three times, answering all three of those questions incorrectly, of course. In the Double Jeopardy round, Becky was only able to chime in with one response and it too was incorrect.
When the Celebrity Jeopardy! interview segment came around, Ken Jennings mentioned in gest that Lynch was probably used to a more “rowdy room” to which Becky replied, “maybe that’s what’s throwing me off”.
Jennings went on to suggest that the crowd start throwing chairs and yelling to make her feel more comfortable.
Finally Gets An Answer
In Celebrity Jeopardy! there is always an extra round of play, and Lynch was finally able to answer with a correct response in the third round, though her score was still in the negative.
Her first correct response was, “What is ‘ass’?” The clue was “A synonym for ‘butt’, it’s also ‘an unclean animal’ according to the King James Bible”. Becky’s correct response warranted a round of applause from the audience and she proudly announced, “I’m back, baby!”.
Final Jeopardy Round
She then went on to answer one more Celebrity Jeopardy! question with a correct response before heading into the Final Jeopardy round. Her second correct response was “Clueless”, which one could say was the measure of her play that night.
When Final Jeopardy began, Lynch had a score of -$500, Dratch had $23,000, and Culkin had $16,800. Dratch ultimately won the game that night, though Lynch was gifted $500 from the show to participate in Final Jeopardy, and all three of the contestants answered with correct responses.
Kept A Good Attitude
Though Becky’s appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy! didn’t place her in the position to be called a genius anytime soon, the first female main event winner at WrestleMania took it all in stride, shining a positive light on today’s wrestlers.
Lynch made a post on X stating, “I never stop making history!”.
Becky Lynch Book Release
During her appearance on Celebrity Jeopardy!, Becky Lynch also touted the release of her upcoming memoir entitled Becky Lynch: The Man: Not Your Average Girl.
Set to drop on March 26, 2024, the book describes Rebecca’s childhood love of wrestling and the unlikely path that led her to where she is today. She may not have had much success on Celebrity Jeopardy!, but Becky Lynch is a force to be reckoned with in the ring.
