Recently, it seems like Bruce Willis likes space. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t have to wear a mask there, or maybe that’s just where all the direct-to-VOD work is these days. After the release of Breach late last year, Willis is following one sci-fi space thriller for another, with his latest film, Cosmic Sin.
In the trailer for Cosmic Sin, Bruce Willis plays former general James Ford, who joins a group to fight an alien threat that has opened a space gate in order to bring their army to us. Willis is joined by Frank Grillo and others to try and take on the alien threat before they take us out. This involves flying through space in suits that look like Gears of War outfits, something known as a “Q bomb,” and lots of shooting. Basically, Bruce Willis killing things in space. Again.
In addition to Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo, Cosmic Sin also stars Adelaide Kane from The Purge, Riverdale’s Lochlyn Munro, and wrestler C.J. Perry. While he doesn’t appear in the trailer or in the credits for the trailer, Luke Wilson was also at one time set to appear in the film, but it’s unclear if he still is involved with the project. Cosmic Sin is directed and co-written by Edward Drake, who is mostly known for music video directing, including working with The Fratellis and the Skrillex and Diplo duo, Jack Ü.
But despite many productions shutting down over the last year, Bruce Willis still has a ton of projects on the way. Willis has already filmed the serial killer thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass, which also stars Emile Hirsch, Megan Fox, and Inception’s Lukas Haas. Willis even has another film wrapped with Edward Drake called Apex, which will also costar Captain America: The First Avengers’ Neal McDonough.
In addition to the films that Bruce Willis has already filmed, he’s also attached to Out of Death, in which Willis will appear with Jaime King. Finally, Willis is currently filming yet another film with Edward Drake, called American Siege, in which Willis must take out a group of thieves who have taken a wealthy doctor hostage. While many actors haven’t been able to work in the last year, Willis has somehow filmed three films with the same director, with even more films on the way.
Not to be outdone by co-star Bruce Willis, Frank Grillo also has found time to make plenty of films, with six of them scheduled for release this year. In addition to Cosmic Sin, Grillo has already filmed Body Brokers, Boss Level, Cop Shop, This Is the Night, and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard with Samuel L. Jackson, Ryan Reynolds, and Salma Hayek.
Frank Grillo and Bruce Willis are two of the busiest stars working today, and it looks like we will be seeing plenty of them over the next year. Cosmic Sin comes to theaters, on digital and on-demand March 12, 2021.
