It had been announced on Friday that Guy Ritchie would be handling directing duties for the newly announced live-action version of Hercules. While this might sound strange, the man did write and direct Aladdin, which was massively successful. He is also working on a sequel to that film. With the announcement that this new live-action Disney film was underway, fans were quick to start their dream casting. Apparently, some think that Bruce Campbell would be the ideal Hades, the role that was taken by James Woods in the original animated film. Campbell hilariously responded to the rumor in typical fashion. You can see his response below:

We must admit that whoever photoshopped Bruce Campbell as Hades didn’t do the best job, but it was enough to garner the attention of the actor. He backs the idea that he could and would appear in this new live-action take on Hercules. Honestly, he does have the same type of humorous acting ability that James Woods possesses, so this would make sense to us. This is just another wild rumor that has involved Campbell in the past few weeks. A petition suggested that he was going to be replacing Amber Heard in Aquaman 2 as well, which the actor hilariously accepted too.

There are no casting announcements just yet for Hercules, as it had only been announced that Guy Ritchie would be linking up with Disney again. It might be some time before we hear anything about who might be taking on the big roles for this new live-action version of one of the best-animated films Disney has ever produced. Bruce Campbell as Hades would be great, but then again, he could appear in plenty of other Godly positions in the movie and it would work. Campbell has integrated himself into the MCU already, as he appeared in Doctor Strange 2. He had also previously been in the original Spider-Man franchise. That has nothing to do with Hercules, but we are saying he’s already a Disney legend.

Hercules joins a growing list of classic animated features that have been given the live-action treatment. Those films include The Lion King, The Jungle Book, and Aladdin. There is also a live-action version of Pinocchio dropping soon, which stars Tom Hanks as Geppetto and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jiminy Cricket. Also, a live-action Snow White is being worked on, which stars Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Rachel Zegler as Snow White. Guy Ritchie is clearly up for the task, as Aladdin grossed over $1 billion in box office numbers. Maybe if he sees the above tweet, he might consider Bruce Campbell for the role of Hades.

Bruce Campbell does not have any huge projects coming up, so this might be the perfect time to consider him for a bigger role in a Disney film. Fans would certainly welcome this addition, as Campbell has been one of the most legendary underground actors since The Evil Dead was released in 1981. He has paid plenty of his dues, and he deserves a bigger role in the Disney universe. Hades would be perfect.
