Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson are starring together once again, this time in a dark action thriller movie titled The Forgotten for Netflix. According to our trusted and proven sources, the two Marvel stars will play a daughter and an adoptive father (you can probably guess who is who) who find themselves investigating an unexpected secret. We would not have predicted that Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson would become one of the most uncommon on-screen pairings of the 21st century, but it certainly seems to be what is happening.

The Forgotten will star Brie Larson as Alice, a young woman adopted by Samuel L. Jackson who makes a sinister discovery about her family, which shakes her sense of self and identity. In recent years, the Captain Marvel star has been developing numerous projects with Netflix, which seems to have become her new preferred production house. Although Larson continues to work with both Apple TV+ and Marvel Studios, it is increasingly apparent that she is in good with the Big Red streaming platform.

We have previously reported that Brie Larson is currently set to star in The Agent, a CIA action film in which she plays an expert spy tasked by the Company with taking down an international criminal organization; she may also direct the film for Netflix. Additionally, she will be starring in a Netflix psychological thriller titled The Mind’s Eye, in which she will portray a young woman who develops terrifying telekinetic abilities. While Samuel L. Jackson has not been announced to appear in either of these, we would not be all that surprised if he does.

As of right now, Brie Larson and Samuel L. Jackson have appeared in a whopping five projects together, beginning with 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, the second movie in Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse. The same year, the two appeared in Larson’s directorial debut, the whimsical fantasy film Unicorn Store (notably, also produced by Netflix). Then the duo kicked into high gear, teaming up as Carol Danvers and Nick Fury first in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame (2019), and soon to reunite in the upcoming The Marvels

There is no word whether Brie Larson will appear in any capacity in Samuel L. Jackson’s Secret Invasion series, but we would not be surprised, considering it is essentially a sequel to the events of Captain Marvel. Even if she does not, The Forgotten will make it six for Larson and Jackson.

In addition to the above Netflix projects, Brie Larson will also be starring in Lessons in Chemistry, an Apple TV+ series based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus. In the show, Larson will play a scientist in the 1960s who is driven out of research by the entrenched chauvinism and sexism of the time and finds herself hosting an educational cooking show that eventually becomes a feminist platform. In a project with a slightly different tone, Brie Larson will also appear in Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast and Furious series.
