See Brie Larson get in shape for Captain Marvel 2.
This article is more than 2 years old
Brie Larson will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain Marvel 2 and it looks like the actress has decided to post a video to her YouTube account talking about what the future holds for her. That will include starting training for Captain Marvel 2.
You can watch Brie Larson’s video right here:
Yes, Brie Larson is clearly being more than a little cheeky in this video. Captain Marvel 2 is set to release in theaters on November 11, 2022. So, the actress has a little while before she needs to get totally in shape. But you can bet that she will be starting her training in earnest very soon. You can see the gym setup she has in the above video and it looks more than adequate to get her in fighting shape for the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel.
This does lead us to an interesting question: will Brie Larson be appearing as Captain Marvel in any of the other upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movies? There are seven movies releasing before Captain Marvel 2: Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, the as-yet-untitled third Spider-Man film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Black Panther 2. Normally, the Marvel Cinematic Universe characters like to make a cameo in a film before showing up in their own feature. If any of these movies were going to have a Captain Marvel appearance (most likely in a post-credits scene), which one would it be?
If we were betting on any appearance from Brie Larson in one of these movies, it would probably be Black Panther 2. That production will likely be shooting around the same time as Captain Marvel 2, so it would not be too difficult to film some kind of post-credits stinger for Black Panther 2 that helps set up the events of Captain Marvel 2. Plus, if the rumors about Letitia Wright becoming the next Black Panther are true, it could be a moment to showcase two of Marvel’s superheroines together in a fun bit of synchronicity. There is also the Ms. Marvel series on Disney+. Will Captain Marvel be making an appearance in that?
Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is promising to push a lot of things forward with the overall franchise. We know three projects – WandaVision, Spider-Man 3, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – are going to introduce the idea of the multiverse. Will Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel be feeling the effects of this storyline at all? Or is it going to remain contained to those three other movies? And what exactly will the plan be for Captain Marvel after the events of Captain Marvel 2?
We will simply have to wait for quite a while before we start learning some more concrete facts about the series. For now, we know Brie Larson is about to get ready to train for the role once again. Here’s hoping that means we start hearing more news about the movie.
