See Brie Larson In Her New Captain Marvel Suit
Actor Brie Larson broke away from the dramatic film roles that made her famous with a stunning take on the character of Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, in the 2019 superhero movie for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reprising the role in Avengers: Endgame, Larson wore her hair a lot shorter and fans were excited to see how the character would be represented in future installments. Now, a picture of the Hot Wheels toy featuring Brie Larson as Captain Marvel in the upcoming sequel The Marvels has made its way to Twitter, showing off the character’s newest suit.
The fan account that posted the picture to social media of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel on a Hot Wheels toy also included a similar advertisement for the merchandise featuring Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel, with both characters’ new suits front and center. According to ComingSoon.net, the costumes of both actors include new suit strips, but Captain Marvel’s suit also has her iconic logo to help differentiate the character from the others in the film. These images are the first look at what the characters will be wearing in The Marvels, which is due to be released in theaters as part of Marvel’s Phase Five on July 28, 2023.
Iman Vellani joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe with her debut as Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, in the Disney+ miniseries Ms. Marvel. The Canadian actor will join Brie Larson in The Marvels, where Larson will continue her work as Captain Marvel amongst a new crop of superheroes. The cast for the sequel includes Teyonah Parris from WandaVision who will reprise her role as Monica Rambeau, as well as Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, former director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
For Brie Larson, returning as Captain Marvel in The Marvels will be the first step in a possible lineup of action movies the 21 Jump Street actor has in store for fans in the not-so-distant future. After having already appeared on an episode of Ms. Marvel this year before venturing off to The Marvels, Larson will next start out the 2023 summer blockbuster season by heading off into another established media franchise, costarring in Fast X. Set to debut in May 2023 with a budget of $340 million, the tenth installment in the Fast and the Furious franchise will star Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez Jason Momoa, and Charlize Theron.
Before Brie Larson stepped into the Marvel Cinematic Universe to put on the Captain Marvel costume, the actor was well-known around independent film circles as the new it-girl. Having starred in Short Term 12 and The Spectacular Now before she had even turned 25 years old, Larson moved into more comedic roles in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck before taking on the part of a lifetime in 2015’s Room. Playing the victim of a kidnapping who ends up raising the son of her captor after escaping, Brie Larson took home the Academy Award for Best Actress and solidified her position as an A-list movie star for years to come.
