Brad Pitt’s Deadpool Cameo Makes Total Sense Now
Deadpool 2 was among the highly-anticipated releases in 2018, as it brought back the Merc with the Mouth and his never-ending shenanigans, easter eggs, humorous nods, and, of course, a Brad Pitt cameo—something the fandom had debated for a very long time. Well, now it’s official; according to Yahoo Entertainment, Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld has revealed that Deadpool 2 was originally going to star Brad Pitt as Cable.
Cable Was Always Meant To Be Brad Pitt’s Role
The first reports associating Brad Pitt with Deadpool 2‘s Cable date back to 2017, when news outlets suggested that Pitt might join the franchise as Deadpool’s frenemy. According to Liefeld, the earliest stages of production actually featured Pitt as Cable, but things eventually didn’t work out schedule-wise, and the role went to Josh Brolin, whose wife had forced him to read for the part—that turned out to be a massive success for both Brolin and the movie. If he hadn’t, someone else would’ve starred next to Ryan Raynolds.
Pitt Had Ending Up With A Cameo As The Vanisher
Brad Pitt did make an appearance in Deadpool 2, though. The good-looking and prolific actor made a very brief cameo appearance as The Vanisher, part of Deadpool’s X-Force team. His appearance only lasted for a few seconds during the scene where The Vanisher is electrocuted in an attempt to parachute out of an airplane on the team’s first mission, revealing his face for just a moment. The movie was directed by David Leitch, who went on to work with Brad Pitt on 2022’s Bullet Train.
Deadpool 2 Was A Mega Hit
Even without Bratt Pitt in a major role, Deadpool 2 fared exceptionally well among the audiences, thanks to the star-studded cast and the stellar performance of its lead, Ryan Reynolds. The franchise doesn’t show any signs of stopping, and Deadpool 3, scheduled for release next year, is about to enter the MCU—as things currently stand, we pray that Disney doesn’t put its finders into this particular piece of pie, as it would most definitely ruin the experience.
Deadpool 3 Releasing In 2024
The upcoming movie will star Reynolds as Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine once again—the fandom is ecstatic about this—along with Brianna Hildebrand, Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapičić, Shioli Kutsuna, Rob Delaney, Emma Corrin, and Matthew Macffayden—though the latter two have been cast in undisclosed roles for the upcoming film.
Brad Pitt, in the meantime, is scheduled to appear in Wolfs, which is currently in production, and an untitled Formula One racing movie, which is currently in the pre-production stage.
Brad Pitt And Ryan Reynolds In Bullet Train
2022’s Bullet Train was a relative success for Brad Pitt. The movie received mixed or average reviews from the movie critics, and it currently has a skinny 54 percent rating on Tomatometer. However, the audiences absolutely loved the film, and honestly, both Brad Pitt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s performances were highly praised by the audiences.
Interestingly enough, Ryan Reynolds appears in an uncredited cameo role as an assassin, which he accepted as a thank-you to Brad Pitt for his own cameo in Deadpool 2—the one in which Brad Pitt’s character becomes high-voltage barbecue.
