As Spider-Man prepares to dominate the global box office, Sony Pictures has pushed a few of its other projects. This includes Brad Pitt’s new action film Bullet Train which will now be released on July 15, 2022. It was initially supposed to open on April 8, 2022. The Brad Pitt starrer is based on the novel Maria Beetle by Kōtarō Isaka. The book was published under the name Bullet Train in the United States. The movie’s screenplay was created by Zak Olkewicz, with David Leitch taking on directing duties. The producers are Kelly McCormick, David Leitch, and Antoine Fuqua, and the executive producers are Ryosuke Saegusa, Yuma Terada, Brent O’Connor, and Kat Samick (via Deadline).
Bullet Train tells the story of five assassins who find themselves on a Japanese bullet train. After realizing that their assignments are all connected, chaos ensues. Brad Pitt headlines an impressive ensemble cast which includes Joey King, Andrew Koji, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Zazie Beetz, Masi Oka, Michael Shannon, Logan Lerman, Hiroyuki Sanada, Karen Fukuhara, Bad Bunny, and Sandra Bullock.
Although Bullet Train has hit the brakes, for now, the Hollywood star still has various projects on his job card. After a successful decades-long career as an actor and producer, Brad Pitt has decided to venture into the music industry. The 57-year-old has teamed up with Emmy-winning music producer Damien Quintard to reopen Miraval Studios. The legendary recording facility is located at Château Miraval in Correns, France. Following a complete redesign, it hosted sessions for Pink Floyd, Sting, and The Cranberries.
The studio was built in 1977 by Château Miraval’s then-owner Jacques Loussier. But it remained mostly unused for two decades until Brad Pitt and Quintard decided to renovate the space for musicians taking on new recordings. Speaking about the project, Quintard said he immediately clicked with the actor. He recalled an intense moment where they just talked about sound. He said in a statement he was amazed at how sensitive and precise Pitt was in his analysis of music via E! Online).
The studio’s new look will feature most of its original recording equipment. However, it will be integrated into a modern setting which includes a desk personally designed by Brad Pitt and Quintard. It will also boast multiple recording booths, sound and video editing workstations, rare musical gear and synthesizers, and a mezzanine overlooking the entire studio. Miraval Studios will officially open in 2022.
Brad Pitt also has several movies in post-production. Blonde is a biographical drama written and directed by Andrew Dominik. Based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates, it tells the story of American actress Marilyn Monroe.
The Once Upon A Time in Hollywood star will also appear in The Lost City. The adventure comedy is directed by Aaron and Adam Nee, who wrote the screenplay with Oren Uziel and Dana Fox, from a story by Seth Gordon. Starring alongside Brad Pitt is Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Daniel Radcliffe, Patti Harrison, Oscar Nunez, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
