Divorces are complicated, primarily when it affects those closest to you in your family, and it’s challenging for those in the public eye, like celebrities and politicians. Actor Brad Pitt knows this all too well, having been divorced from A-list celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and now Angelina Jolie in recent years. However, it appears that after his divorce from Jolie, Brad Pitt decided to take up art and sculpting to help distract him from the failure of his marriage, and now that art is on display in a gallery for the general public to witness.
According to a report by CNN, Brad Pitt has donated the sculptures he created from hand after his divorce to Academy Award-winning actor Angelina Jolie became finalized. This week, Pitt is making his debut as an artist in an exhibition at the Sara Hildén Art Museum in Tampere, Finland, and the actor is looking towards the future with his art rather than the past with some romantic troubles. Of the pieces available through January at the art exhibition, there are various sculptures like a house-shaped building in transparent silicon and shot up with what appears to be bullets.
Some other pieces available under Brad Pitt’s newest artistic efforts range from small to grand in scale. There looks to be a miniature house made primarily out of tree bark held together with some tape entitled “House A Go Go,” as well as a bronze piece shaped like a box with hands, feet, and faces trying to break through the work from different angles. One artwork in particular, “Aiming At You I Saw Me But It Was Too Late This Time,” is a portion of plaster hanging on a wall that reflects a battle between eight people in a chaotic gunfight to the death.
The first art exhibition from Brad Pitt appears to be a departure for the actor from his current days as one of Hollywood’s most prized performers, gracing movies in recent hits like Bullet Train alongside Joey King, Channing Tatum, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Sandra Bullock, and Brian Tyree Henry. Pitt married Jennifer Aniston while she was on the hit NBC series Friends from 2000 until their eventual divorce in 2005. His relationship with Angelina Jolie started around that time and ended in divorce in 2019, with six children and a lot of media attention later.
Since his divorce from Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has taken to his artistic abilities outside of acting by crafting some sculptures featured in the Finland exhibit for a few more months. As for his acting roles, Pitt will next be featured as part of the all-star cast in director Damien Chazelle’s newest jazz epic about a man pursuing a career in Hollywood in the 1920s amid a partying craze, Babylon. Babylon costars Lukas Haas, Tobey Maguire, Margot Robbie, Jean Smart, and Diego Calva and is set for a theatrical release on December 25, 2022, in the United States ahead of awards season buzz that will most likely see Pitt attend multiple awards shows in the not so distant future.
