Borat 2 is a much-needed surprise in the awful year that is 2020. We have been eagerly awaiting an extended look at the film since we got that fun little tease yesterday. Now, we have a full trailer and a gloriously large title for the comedy sequel.
Borat 2 is titled Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. Check out the first full-length trailer right now!
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, or Borat 2, will center around the Kazakh reporter returning to America after being disgraced due to his previous documentary. He will also have his daughter along for the ride and it looks like he will be crossing paths with none other than Vice President Mike Pence. The shenanigans are sure to be absurd and hilarious.
What is equally outrageous is that we will be able to watch Borat 2 in less than a month! The sequel, er, subsequent moviefilm will be dropping on Amazon Prime Video on October 23. It’s likely that the studio would have preferred to give Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan a theatrical run, but theater closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic likely forced them to re-evaluate their release strategy.
And it is kind of wacky to see that Borat 2 will actually be tackling the issue of the COVID-19 pandemic. Borat looks like he is going to be spending some quality quarantine time with some rednecks and that will lead to some utterly bonkers moments. In fact, everything in this trailer shows that Sacha Baron Cohen has not lost his knack for cleverly offensive shock humor. For a sequel that no one ever expected, this looks like it has a lot of the same awkward charm as the original film.
The entire premise of Borat 2 centering around Borat being too famous and having to disguise himself looks like it will lead to some truly gonzo moments, especially the moment in the trailer involving Borat, his daughter, and a pastor. If you thought that Cohen was going to lose any of his edge, the trailer for Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan should put those worries to rest.
Borat 2 just jumped way up on our list of most anticipated movies in 2020. We all need a good laugh this year and it is so awesome to see that Sacha Baron Cohen was able to resurrect the Borat character to give that to us. October 23 can’t get here soon enough. In the meantime, we are going to be rewatching the original Borat and trying not to have a hernia from laughing so much. Here’s hoping that Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan will be as effective at splitting our sides. This trailer certainly did the job.
