After receiving rave reviews for his previous series Midnight Mass and The Haunting of Hill House, Mike Flanagan’s latest creation, The Fall of the House of Usher, predictably debuted at the top of Netflix’s charts. The series explores the dark and twisted tale of siblings who build a family dynasty to secure their fortune, only to watch it crumble as their heirs mysteriously begin to die. Although The Fall of the House of Usher maintained its position in the streamer’s top 10 for more than a week, Forbes reports that it has since been surpassed by Bodies, a new mystery series that has claimed the top spot on Netflix.

The Fall of the House of Usher has been overtaken by the new British mystery thriller Bodies.

Bodies is a British limited series that was primarily written and created for Netflix by Paul Tomalin. The series is an adaptation of the DC Vertigo comic and graphic novel with the same title, penned by Si Spencer and illustrated by Dean Ormston, Tula Lotay, Meghan Hetrick, and Phil Winslade. Spanning eight episodes, the series made its debut on Netflix on October 19, 2023.

The captivating narrative of Bodies, Netflix’s newest hit series, unfurls as it delves into the mysterious discovery of the identical corpse, appearing on Longharvest Lane in London’s East End, remarkably in four different eras – 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053.

In their pursuit, they aim to uncover a hidden conspiracy that has pervaded over 150 years, intricately entwined with Britain’s historical fabric.

In the course of their investigations, detectives from each distinct time period gradually begin to peel back the layers of the case, revealing the interconnected web that links their seemingly separate inquiries. Eventually, they come to the realization that all of their inquiries are connected to the mysterious political leader Elias Mannix.
