Boba Fett Actor Wants Revenge On A Star Wars Hero
It looks like some of the rivalries in Star Wars are going to keep coming up with a Boba Fett star wanting a crack at another franchise hero
Hoping to serve up some heavy-duty revenge for the murder of his character’s father is The Book of Boba Fett star, Temuera Morrison. In a recent interview with IMDb’s On The Scene, the actor mentioned he would like to see his character seek out revenge against his father’s murderer, the Jedi Master, Mace Windu. The beef between the Fett family and Windu goes back to the film, Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones which saw the demise of Boba’s father, Jango.
The scene was a brutal one in which Jango is dealt a decapitating blow by Windu, with young Boba Fett watching from a hidden cave. To be fair, Jango was also trying to kill Mace, so it’s really a dog-eat-dog world in every galaxy. Things got super traumatizing following the battle, when viewers watched as Boba went to the side of his father and picked up his helmet, giving goosebumps to audiences who knew what was to come for the young Fett.
During the interview, Morrison said that he wants to see Mace Windu put through some sort of torture, hopefully a “slow torture” via his brutal co-bounty hunter, Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen.) Of why he believes Boba Fett would want revenge, the starring actor says the bounty hunter feels that the Jedi has a huge debt to be paid. “I owe him big time for my dad,” Morrison says, adding, “He’s done. He’s done. I’ve got my eye on him. He’s top of the list, in fact.” With these words, Mace Windu better watch his back.
The hangup for the Boba Fett vs. Mace Windu showdown may be that Windu is believed to be dead. Although his arm was cut off by Anakin Skywalker and he was shot out the window by Darth Sidious’ lightning blast, many fans believe the talented Jedi to still be alive. Even the actor portraying Mace Windu, Samuel L. Jackson, has put in his two cents saying there’s no way the Jedi was taken out by the force lightning maneuver. If this is all true, we can maybe expect to see the bounty hunter get some sort of revenge for the death of his father. The Book of Boba Fett has certainly shown the titular character’s daddy issues coming out while recovering from injuries in the bacta tank. Via flashbacks, we see the tough-as-nails bounty hunter have some feelings centered around the premature death of his father.
The Book of Boba Fett has been another massive hit for Disney+ stemming from its largely loved series, The Mandalorian. Both bounty hunter-centric series were created by Jon Favreau and have held their own in the Star Wars world. The Book of Boba Fett follows Boba after he survived the fall into the Sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi. Following the downfall of Jabba the Hutt, Boba Fett comes back to take what is his – Tattooine’s throne of daimyo. To complete his mission, he pulls in the aid of fellow bounty hunter and lethal assassin, Fennec Shand. The series also features characters from The Mandalorian including the acting talent of Pedro Pascal, Amy Sedaris, Timothy Oliphant, Emily Swallow, and Rosario Dawson.
With the news of Morrison pushing for a new plot point that would feature his Boba Fett facing off against Jackson’s Mace Windu, fans have something totally new to get excited about. Should the revenge fight truly happen, it would also answer one of the greatest debated “deaths” in Star Wars franchise history. Only time will tell.
