Ever since The Mandalorian season two finale dropped the epic post-credit scene of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand taking over Jabba the Hutt’s palace in Tatooine as well as the announcement of the upcoming Star Wars series, The Book of Boba Fett, fans have been eager to know more about the show. And even though The Book of Boba Fett just recently wrapped up shooting its first season, there are already questions regarding a Boba Fett season 2. Thankfully, series star Temuera Morrison has finally disclosed some answers.

In a chat with Express, Temuera Morrison was questioned about the possibility of The Book of Boba Fett having a season 2. In response, Morrison shared that only the success of the first season will decide whether the series will get a second season at all. The first season will “test the waters first” while details beyond that are still being considered. Fortunately, The Mandalorian was a smashing success. It has many hungry fans waiting for Mandalorian season 3. The same minds behind that series are also helming The Book of Boba Fett, so there is plenty of reason to believe that it is almost certain the new series will be another hit, which almost guarantees a season 2.

While any possible plot detail about The Book of Boba Fett season 2 is impossible to guess at the moment, we know the setting of the first season based on where we left Boba Fett. The Mandalorian season 2 finale’s post-credit scene had presented the late Jabba the Hutt’s palace, in Tatooine’s Dune Sea. Bib Fortuna was seated on his late master’s throne and totally enjoying life when Fennec Shand easily strolled into the palace and killed all his goons before freeing a Twi’lek slave girl. Soon, Boba Fett entered and before Bib Fortuna could recover from his shock of seeing him alive, the bounty hunter shot him and took his place on the throne with Fennec beside him.

It is left to be seen how Boba Fett plans to run things now, but knowing the bounty hunter it is highly probable that he will prove instrumental in bringing Tatooine under control and will put an end to its lawless days since the downfall of the Empire. But that’s not the only question that The Book of Boba Fett season 1, and hopefully season 2 after that, will have to answer as fans are still pretty much clueless about Boba’s past up until his appearance in The Mandalorian.

While there have been Star Wars comics and games which have picked up Boba Fett’s story post his apparent death at the hands of Han Solo in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and explained how he survived, his current live-action trajectory in the Star Wars universe establishes that those stories are not canon anymore. This means we still don’t know how Boba Fett escaped the deadly Sarlacc pit, why he continued to live on Tatooine but never targeted Cobb Vanth to get back his armor, why he is suddenly against the Empire, and a trillion other questions. As there is a lot of ground to cover here, we are keeping our fingers crossed for The Book of Boba Fett season 2.
