Bob Odenkirk’s Best Movie Is Streaming For Free And Anyone Can Watch It Right Now
From 2015 to 2022, Bob Odenkirk was doing some of the best dramatic work of his career, reprising his Breaking Bad role as Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman in his spin-off show Better Call Saul. Somehow, he also found the time to quietly be in one of the best action films of 2021 with the film Nobody. Now you can watch the film that is currently #8 on Amazon’s Freevee platform (via FlixPatrol), and it’s well worth taking the time to stream it if you missed it the first time.
Bob Odenkirk’s 2021 action film, Nobody, is the eighth most streamed movie on Amazon’s Freevee.
While Bob Odenkirk has more than proved his dramatic and comedic skills throughout his career, he never really was an actor that you would first think of when you think of “action star.” However, Nobody will wholeheartedly change your mind, as Odenkirk uses these expectations to his advantage.
In the film, Odenkirk effortlessly flips the switch from a mild-mannered, meek family man to a convincing ruthless killer in seconds.
What is Nobody About?
Nobody stars Bob Odenkirk as Hutch Mansell, a man who returns to his former life as an assassin after he seeks revenge for his house being robbed, leading him to become the target of a dangerous drug lord. Along with Odenkirk, the film stars Connie Nielsen, Aleksey Serebryakov, RZA, and Christopher Lloyd.
Ilya Naishuller directed the film, and John Wick creator Derek Kolstad wrote it.
The John Wick connections to Nobody don’t end with Kolstad’s involvement, as John Wick co-director David Leitch was also on board as a producer. After seeing Nobody, this will come as no surprise. The kinetic fight scenes, anchored by Bob Odenkirk’s performance, are well-choreographed, brutal, and easily stand next to some of the best set pieces from the Keanu Reeves franchise.
Nobody managed to be an impressive success commercially, too, despite the factors working against it. The film’s theatrical release had to be delayed multiple times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and theaters were still seeing low ticket sales when it was eventually released in March 2021. The Bob Odenkirk film was able to beat expectations anyway, bringing in $57.5 million worldwide against a $16 million budget, and topped the box office with $6.7 million on its opening weekend.
Nobody Sequel Announced
The film was also widely praised by critics and audiences for its fun action scenes and Bob Odenkirk’s performance. Thus, it was no surprise that a sequel was greenlit in 2022. Principal photography is scheduled to take place for the sequel sometime in 2023, but there is no official release date announced for Nobody 2 yet.
Another interesting wrinkle to the Nobody franchise is the fact that the creators are interested in having it crossover with the John Wick franchise in some capacity, despite the films being distributed by different studios.
Since Kolstad created both franchises and David Leitch is married to Nobody co-producer Kelly McCormick, there is definitely some potential to connect the two. Kolstad has even stated that Keanue Reeves’ Wick and Bob Odenkirk’s Mansell would be on the same side if they were to meet.
However, Kolstad also expressed that he would prefer the crossover to be more “minimalist” and more Easter Egg based, rather than a full-on Godzilla vs King Kong situation. Still, it would certainly be a treat for fans to see Keanu Reeves and Bob Odenkirks’ most badass characters sharing the screen. Even if it was just for one fight scene, it would be worth the effort to make the crossover work.

If you’ve had your fill of fight scenes, now is also a great time to check out Bob Odenkirk’s final performance as Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul, which you can now stream on Netflix in its entirety.
It’s definitely one of the best performances of Odenkirk’s career, and fans are hoping that the upcoming Emmys will finally recognize it and give the man a trophy already. Odenkirk also recently gave a fantastic performance as a guest star in the FX series The Bear, which you can stream on Hulu.
In the meantime, now is the best time to check out Nobody while we wait for the sequel. You can stream it for free while you can on Freevee, as it’s sure to get more popular over the next week and climb up past that #8 spot on FlixPatrol.
